According to Hola!, this decision was made after Italy Mora repeatedly violated the contract with the Miss Panama Organization.

"Failure to comply with the regulations communicated to each contestant by the Miss Universe organization has resulted in the disqualification of our representative. The Miss Panama Organization always prioritizes the integrity of its contestants. However, due to the contestant's repeated violations of the contract with the national organization, we regretfully announce the official revocation of the title of Miss Universe Panama from Italy Mora," the statement said.

Italy Mora was disqualified from the Miss Universe pageant after a thorough review by the pageant's Disciplinary Committee. The 19-year-old beauty said the decision by the Miss Universe organization was too harsh and that everything could have been resolved through direct communication.

Following the incident, the national director of Miss Universe Panama, César Anel Rodríguez, livestreamed that despite what happened, Italy Mora would still keep her title.

But a few days later, Italy Mora gave an interview to the program La Mordida in Panama, criticizing César for shirking responsibility in this matter.

Italy Mora said that on the evening of November 1, National Director César Anel Rodríguez called her to a hotel room to discuss makeup for the next day's event and also called her boyfriend. After the argument, César angrily left, 20 minutes later, the organizers knocked on the door and found Italy with her boyfriend in the room. They reported the incident to the organizers.

Italy Mora also accused César of not supporting her during the competition, even having to transfer money to him after she was crowned. Italy's boyfriend said he sponsored some items for her to compete, including a $7,000 Carolina Herrera dress, and claimed he did not stay at the same hotel, only came to deliver the items.

Tensions between the beauty queen and the national director led to the decision to revoke the title. Italy Mora wrote on her Instagram story: "I am not the first Miss Universe to be stripped of my title for exposing the violations of our rights and the blackmail we are subjected to by national and international organizations."
