Attending the launching ceremony in Gia Rai ward, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union Pham Tuan Tai noted that the formations must ensure safety, economy and efficiency.
Joy and excitement were evident on the face of Mrs. Tran Thi Nguyet (76 years old, living in Hamlet 25, Gia Rai Ward) when she heard the news that she was about to have a new, spacious house. She was even more moved when the Youth Union members supported her with labor to dismantle the old house and felt more confident when she received both material and spiritual support.
In just one morning, the house was dismantled, the site was ready for tomorrow (July 15) to start construction of a new house with an area of over 40 square meters.
“This is the first time my family has welcomed so many children and grandchildren. I asked the children to help with the dismantling, because the old couple could not do it. The family is truly very grateful!”, Mrs. Nguyet emotionally shared.
Participating from the first day of the campaign, Mr. Nguyen Ba Noi, Captain of the Youth Team to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Gia Rai ward, and also Deputy Secretary of the ward Youth Union, said: each member determined that the spirit of volunteerism is the top factor.
“The hard work is shared by the youth, ensuring progress and helping families feel secure in building new homes ,” Mr. Noi shared. He added that the operating costs are mainly contributed by voluntary members or mobilized from the community to provide drinking water and snacks to help them have the strength to complete their tasks.
Heavy and difficult tasks are assigned to team members to ensure safety, efficiency and quick completion.
Ms. Huynh Nguyen Bao Tran, Secretary of the Gia Rai Ward Youth Union, said: The youth teams will focus on supporting people in dismantling old houses, filling land, transporting materials, filling foundations, building houses, cleaning and connecting electricity and water. At the same time, the team also mobilizes necessities, household items and connects organizations, individuals and businesses to contribute funds and livelihoods for supported households; calling on all levels of the Youth Union and Youth Union to participate in supporting funds and construction materials...
In addition, the Youth Union at all levels actively promotes on social networks, contributing to spreading the sense of responsibility, arousing enthusiasm among union members, young people and the whole society to join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. At each support point, union members also flexibly utilize old materials to save costs for households.
Youth Union members carefully arrange reusable metal sheets to save money for their families.
"The demolition was completed on the first morning thanks to the volunteer spirit and determination of each member," Ms. Tran emphasized.
After the first house supported, the team at Gia Rai Ward Youth Union continued to visit single-parent households and policy families to maintain the work of dismantling houses for people.
The journey of shock and volunteerism of Ca Mau Youth continues with practical activities for community life. There, you not only contribute your efforts but also bring faith, being a material and spiritual support for difficult circumstances that need timely and appropriate support and help.
Since this morning, 57 teams have been established to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses with the participation of 1,023 youth union members. Accordingly, Ca Mau youth union has supported 35 working days in 25 communes and wards. The commune and ward unions also visited 70 situations that had previously received house support, giving gifts to encourage the families to continue to rise up.
