Comrade Vo Nguyen Nam, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of An Giang Provincial Party Agencies, spoke at the working session with the Chau Thanh Commune Party Committee.
At the working session, the delegation heard reports on the ideological situation and public opinion in the locality ahead of the Party Congresses at all levels; the results of directing the organization of congresses of branches and affiliated Party Committees; the progress of preparing documents, personnel plans, reviewing grassroots Party organizations, and developing Party members.
Chau Thanh Commune Party Secretary Lam Minh Cong said that the commune was established on the basis of merging 3 administrative units with an area of 107km², a population of over 70,000 people, of which Khmer people account for 44%. The whole commune has 49 branches and affiliated party committees, with 1,548 party members.

Regarding the organizational structure, the Chau Thanh Commune Party Executive Committee consists of 25 comrades. The commune has 3 advisory agencies and 1 political center. After the merger, the total staff of the commune is 112 people; 197 people are maintained working in the hamlet, including 105 members of the security and order protection team. The first Chau Thanh Commune Party Congress is scheduled to take place on August 5, 2025.
Commenting on the draft documents of the Chau Thanh Commune Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term, comrade Vo Nguyen Nam suggested that the commune should add specific solutions for socio -economic development, apply digital transformation and artificial intelligence to production, promote cooperative economic models, especially cooperatives with OCOP products. In particular, it is necessary to evaluate the efficiency of rice production on over 9,000 hectares, thereby finding solutions to increase production value and avoid wasting resources.

Comrade Vo Nguyen Nam also noted that Chau Thanh Commune Party Committee should pay attention to poverty reduction, social security, improve the quality of Party cell activities, and develop Party members in schools. Regarding people's health care, the commune needs to invest in equipment for the health station; improve the quality of initial medical examination and treatment. At the same time, continue to propagate and grasp the ideology of cadres and Party members after the merger, and do a good job of mass mobilization, especially with poor households and the disadvantaged.
