In Cay Mo village, Luc Yen commune, the sudden rains could not stop the steps of the union members and youth. They crossed the steep, slippery road to clear trees and open the corridor at the positions of columns 160 and 161.

As a household with land within the power line corridor, when the youth force came to support, Mr. Nhan Van Ngay excitedly shared: “The family’s trees have been counted, about 200 trees. Today, the union members and youths came to help cut them down, the family is very grateful. We will cut the rest ourselves to ensure the safety of the power line; everyone agrees and agrees with the general policy.”
The consensus of Mr. Ngay as well as many other households in Luc Yen commune was reinforced by the volunteer spirit and closeness of the union members, helping people feel secure, removing initial concerns, and agreeing to hand over the site for the project.
Mr. Tang Khanh Dien, Deputy Secretary of the Luc Yen Commune Youth Union, who directly participated in supporting the people, shared: “Implementing the movement launched by the Provincial Youth Union, we mobilized members to go to each household to support clearing trees, collecting property and moving houses within the safety corridor. The commune Youth Union also established a household register to monitor and support each family. Personally, I have participated in 7 volunteer activities related to the project and feel very proud to contribute to the project.”

In Muong Lai commune - one of the key areas, when the project passes through, there are up to 18 pole positions, the cleared area is more than 69,000 m². The task of clearing the route corridor, cutting down trees and relocating houses and properties here is very heavy, especially when the project is entering the "final" stage to pull the wire.
Mr. Nong Thanh Son, Vice Chairman of Muong Lai Commune People's Committee said: "Following the direction of the Party Committee, the Youth Union members and youth have actively participated in site clearance, tree felling, creating favorable conditions for the construction unit. The Commune Youth Union also advised and supported households that had to be relocated to prepare temporary accommodation, move houses and assets. Currently, clearing trees in the corridor is the most difficult, the Youth Union members and youth are the main force, accompanying the government to speed up the progress."

From seemingly overwhelming tasks such as dismantling and moving houses, Muong Lai youth have demonstrated the spirit of "wherever needed, there are youth, wherever difficult, there are youth". A typical example is the support for Mrs. Cam Thi Cu's family in the VT172 - VT173 area. Thanks to the cooperation of the union members, Mrs. Cu's house was dismantled, safely moved, and the site was handed over on time.
"Without the union members and youth, my family would have had difficulty moving on schedule," Ms. Cu said emotionally.
Not only accompanying the people, Lao Cai Youth Union members also directly support the construction units. At the construction site, they and workers clear the ground, ensuring conditions for machinery and equipment to operate smoothly.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Thinh, an officer of Power Construction Consulting Joint Stock Company 1, shared: “Since the beginning of the project, we have received attention and encouragement from local leaders. In particular, the union members and young people have directly helped with steel erection, site clearance, creating favorable conditions for the project to ensure the progress set by the Prime Minister on August 19.”

After more than a month since Lao Cai Provincial Youth Union launched the peak support campaign, the youth's strength has spread throughout the communes where the project passes through.
Statistics show that the whole province mobilized about 1,000 union members and youths to participate. The young force directly supported the relocation of 80 households, dismantled nearly 70 architectural works, and cleared the corridor at 35 column spaces, with a total area of over 105,000 m².
The above figures are evidence of the pioneering role of union members and youth in the province. Their contribution has strengthened the people’s trust, added motivation to the construction unit and affirmed the spirit of “youth is the vanguard in all difficult tasks”.

Mr. Ha Duc Hai, Secretary of Lao Cai Provincial Youth Union, affirmed: “Since the beginning of July 2025, the Central Youth Union has coordinated with EVN to launch a program to support people in clearing land, relocating houses, and cutting down trees in the route corridor. The launching ceremony in Xuan Quang commune attracted more than 100 union members and young people to participate. Up to now, in 13 communes where the project passes through, the youth force continues to regularly maintain volunteer teams, accompanying the Party Committee, government and Project Management Board. This is a national key project, so Lao Cai youth are determined to contribute to the project's completion on schedule."
The 500kV Lao Cai – Vinh Yen transmission line project not only has economic and social significance, ensuring national energy security, but is also an opportunity for the young generation to practice and affirm their bravery. At each construction site, besides the drops of sweat, there are smiles, the enthusiasm of youth and faith in the future.
