Youth volunteers participate in summer volunteering

With the motto "Happy, safe, healthy and rewarding summer", Xuan Ha Ward Youth Union (Thanh Khe District) proactively built a monthly summer activity plan, associated with practical and meaningful topics. In particular, in June, with the theme "Join hands to protect children, speak up to prevent and combat child abuse and violence", the unit innovated summer activities, coordinated to promote adolescent reproductive health, organized an exciting race; in July, with the theme "Drinking water, remember the source - volunteer for social security", organized a march to the source, volunteer activities, social security for the community; in August, reviewed and mobilized students at risk of dropping out to return to summer review classes; launched a campaign to clean up the environment in residential areas.

Meanwhile, the Hoa Bac Commune Youth Union (Hoa Vang District) coordinated to organize a program to encourage students with difficult circumstances in the area. At the program, students participated in many fun activities and creative experiences such as: painting on rocks, making traditional rice paper, planting trees... In addition, 100 gifts and 30 scholarships were awarded to give students more confidence and motivation in their studies and life. In addition, union members and young people were mobilized to clean up the stream area of Ta Lang village, contributing to environmental protection.

Hai Chau District Youth Union mobilized more than 100 union members and young people to participate in cleaning the environment after the fireworks display nights, focusing on routes such as: Bach Dang, Nhu Nguyet, Tran Hung Dao, Han River Bridge, Dragon Bridge...

Deputy Secretary of the District Youth Union Le Vien Thanh said that the activity aims to spread awareness of environmental protection, preserve urban beauty and promote the spirit of volunteerism of local youth in major events of the city. In the 2025 summer youth volunteer campaign, the unit will continue to carry out many practical activities such as launching "Volunteer Saturday", "Green Sunday", paying attention to social security work, supporting people in difficulty; demonstrating the role and responsibility of union members and youth in showing gratitude to policy beneficiaries, families with meritorious services, arousing patriotism, national pride and responsibility of youth in the current period.

In early June 2025, the City Youth Union - City Young Pioneers Council implemented the model "One loving address per month" to support Mr. Phan Van Thuyen's family (An Ngai Tay 3 village, Hoa Son commune, Hoa Vang district). Mr. Thuyen's family is in difficult circumstances, raising 3 young children. Previously, the unit supported 60 million VND to build a new house, which was inaugurated in May.

Continuing to accompany, the unit gave an additional 10 million VND to equip more essential items for daily life. Mr. Thuyen emotionally shared: “Thanks to this help, my family has a decent place to live, my children also have more conditions to study and improve. This is a great motivation for us to try harder in life”.

In the 2025 summer youth volunteer campaign, the City Youth Union activated 8 teams, setting targets such as: supporting the elimination of at least 15 temporary and dilapidated houses for people with meritorious services and people in difficult circumstances; planting at least 20,000 new trees; repairing and renovating at least 2km of rural roads; implementing and realizing 500 ideas and initiatives of union members and youth; organizing 10,000 youth to participate in activities to support the improvement of foreign language skills and international integration...

Secretary of the City Youth Union Le Cong Hung said that the series of volunteer activities in the summer of 2025 will be an environment for union members and young people in the city to improve their knowledge, approach practical situations, improve their social work capacity and political courage. Thereby, meeting the needs of participating in social security activities, contributing youth and growing up comprehensively. In addition, paying attention to policy beneficiaries, disadvantaged people, focusing on remote areas, border and island areas... places with difficult conditions, needing the cooperation and contribution of young people.
