The busy summer of 2025 for the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will end with the FIVB World Championship taking place from August 22 to September 7 in Thailand. This is the first world team-level tournament that Vietnamese volleyball has participated in, and is extremely important.
Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team are in Group G with Poland, Germany and Kenya. These are highly skilled opponents with a lot of experience in major tournaments such as the Olympics, Volleyball Nations League or FIVB World Championship. Therefore, the Vietnamese team needs to have the best preparation for the historic tournament.
From the AVC Nations Cup, VTV Cup, Shanghai Future Star to the SEA V.League, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team has created a solid force structure. In order to create consistency in terms of force, the Vietnam Volleyball Federation said that the team is not expected to have many personnel changes at the world championship.
In the preliminary list of players registered to participate in the tournament, the Vietnamese team has 15 names: Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Vi Thi Nhu Quynh, Nguyen Thi Phuong, Nguyen Thi Uyen, Le Thanh Thuy, Nguyen Thi Trinh, Pham Thi Hien, Tran Thi Bich Thuy, Doan Thi Lam Oanh, Vo Thi Kim Thoa, Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen, Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh, Nguyen Khanh Dang, Luu Thi Ly Ly and Nguyen Thi Ninh Anh.
Thus, it is likely that the coaching staff will eliminate 1 libero to finalize the final list of 14 athletes competing in Thailand at the end of this month.
In addition to the preparation of the force, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team also had some remarkable friendly matches in Dong Anh - Hanoi with the Kenyan and Spanish teams. In which, the African representative is the opponent in the same group as the Vietnamese team at the world championship.
Friendly matches between Vietnam, Spain and Kenya will take place continuously at 7pm from August 17 to 19. After that, all 3 teams will move to Thailand to prepare for the 2025 World Cup.
At 7:00 p.m. tonight, August 17, the Vietnamese girls will play their first match against the Spanish women's team.
