Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team Departs for 2023 World Club Championship

On December 11, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and 14 players left for the 2023 FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship, which will take place from December 13 to 17 in Hangzhou, China. In this tournament, the female players will compete under the name Sport Center 1.

On December 13, the 2023 Women's Club Volleyball World Championship will officially kick off.

The tournament is divided into two groups. In each group, the teams compete in a round robin to determine the top two teams in each group to compete in the semi-finals. The two semi-final winners meet in the final, and the two losing teams will participate in the third-place match.

The Vietnamese women's volleyball team, called Sport Center 1, has qualified for the 2023 Women's Volleyball Club World Championship as the reigning Asian champions. The Vietnamese women's volleyball team has just had more than 2 weeks of training. Through training plans and a number of friendly matches with the male student team of Tu Son University of Physical Education and Sports (Bac Ninh), the team has been thoroughly prepared in terms of expertise and maintained stable performance. Regarding the team's goal in this tournament, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet shared: "The players will gather again right after the 2023 National Championship ends. In fact, the opponents are all the world's top strong teams. Therefore, the whole team aims to compete well professionally. Being able to participate in the world tournament is an opportunity for Vietnamese athletes to compete, learn and gain more experience."

Previously, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team had an excellent performance through the rounds, before defeating Thailand's Diamond Food Chef Sport with a score of 3-2 in the final match of the 2023 Asian Volleyball Championship.

According to the draw results, the Vietnamese women's team is in Group B with VakifBank Spor Kulubu (Turkey) and Dentil Praia Clube (Brazil). These are excellent representatives of Europe and South America.

According to the match schedule, the Vietnamese women's team (Sport Center 1) will face VakifBank Spor Kulubu at 12:00 on December 13 (Vietnam time) - this is also the most successful team in the tournament with 4 championships. The Turkish club has been in the mainland since December 8 for professional preparation. After that, they will face Dentil Praia Clube at 12:00 on December 14.

In addition, the semi-finals will take place on December 16. The final and third-place match will take place on December 17./.
