The Vietnamese women's volleyball team (ranked 22nd in the world ) caused a surprise when they won the first set in their opening match against a very strong opponent, Poland (ranked 3rd in the world). Although they lost 1-3 in the end, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team are in very good spirits.
The highlight of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team in the match against Poland was the shining performance of Vi Thi Nhu Quynh. The 2002-born hitter was assigned by coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet to score points instead of the main attacker Tran Thi Thanh Thuy.
This was the right decision of Coach Tuan Kiet as Nhu Quynh is an athlete who always wants to show off, and she is also improving her skills day by day. The 23-year-old hitter's 20 points in the match against Poland not only helped the Vietnamese women's volleyball team have a historic win, but also brought confidence to the team.

In the second round of Group G, Nhu Quynh and her teammates continued to face a big challenge: the German team. In the opening match, Germany beat Kenya 3-0. However, this was not an easy victory for the European team.
Germany coach Giulio Bregoli admitted that his players could not play at their best because the athletes were slow to adapt to the tournament, while the teams participating in the world championship were well prepared and narrowed the gap with the leading teams.
In the next match, Germany met the Vietnamese women's volleyball team, which was rated higher than Kenya. In the friendly match before participating in the world tournament, Thanh Thuy and her teammates had an easy 4-0 victory over the team from Africa.
Although not subjective, Germany is still rated much higher than the Vietnamese women's volleyball team, not only in terms of skill, physique, and physical strength, but also in terms of experience and mettle of the world's 11th ranked team.
For his part, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his students are preparing tactics, have suitable personnel plans, and are determined to cause trouble for the German team, at least winning 1 set.
The Vietnam vs Germany women's volleyball match will take place at 5:00 p.m. on August 25 in Phuket, Thailand.
