In the list of 14 candidates for the position of medical professor in 2025, Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tien, 46 years old, is the youngest. He is from Loc Dien commune, Phu Loc district (old), Hue city.
Currently, Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tien is Deputy Head of Internal Medicine Department, Head of Cardiology Module 9, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy. He is also Deputy Director of Cardiology Center, Head of Cardiology Department, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital.
In addition to training and treatment, he also holds many important positions in professional organizations such as Vice President of the Vietnam Heart Failure Association, Vice President of the Vietnam Atherosclerosis Association, President of the Central Sleep Association, Standing Member of the Vietnam Internal Medicine Association and the Vietnam Sleep Association. He is also a member of prestigious international cardiovascular associations such as FESC, FACC, FSCAI.

Mr. Hoang Anh Tien's journey has been dedicated to Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy - where he started his career as a contract lecturer at the Department of Internal Medicine in 2004. After only a few years, he became a senior lecturer, then held many management positions: Deputy Secretary of the School Youth Union, Deputy Head of Faculty, Party Cell Secretary, Deputy Director of the Cardiovascular Center.
In 2014, at the age of 35, he was recognized as meeting the standards for the title of associate professor, becoming one of the youngest associate professors at Hue University and also the youngest associate professor in the Vietnamese medical industry at that time. This is a proud achievement in an industry with strict requirements on time, capacity and experience.
Born and raised in Hue, Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tien is a testament to a generation of “made in Vietnam” scientists who were systematically trained in the country. In 1997, he was the valedictorian of the B block entrance exam at Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy. Six years later, he graduated with honors as a general practitioner, transferred directly to graduate school and defended his master’s thesis in 2007. In 2011, he successfully defended his doctoral thesis in internal medicine - cardiology with excellent results.
Not only specializing in medicine, he also graduated from Hue University of Foreign Languages (English major), and has a DELF French certificate (issued by the French Ministry of Education ).
With over 19 years of experience, Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tien has guided 4 doctoral students to successfully defend their theses (including 2 who were his main supervisors), and 47 graduate students, resident physicians and level II specialists to complete their theses and dissertations.
Regarding research, he has chaired or participated in 15 scientific projects from grassroots to ministerial level, including 2 ministerial level projects and 4 provincial level projects. He has published more than 180 scientific articles, of which 45 were published in prestigious international journals. In addition, he has published 18 specialized books, including 14 textbooks and 4 monographs, for reference in training and research.
In addition to teaching and research, Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tien directly participates in medical examination and treatment at Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital. He has received many certificates of merit and professional awards, including the "Leader of the National Hypertension Screening Program" Award presented by the World Hypertension Association.
