Vietnam women's volleyball team finalizes list, determined to win VTV Cup

VTV Cup 2025 takes place from June 28 to July 5 at Vinh Phuc Stadium with 8 teams, divided into two groups: Group A, Vietnam , Philippines, Sichuan Club (China) and Australia; Group B: U21 Vietnam, Korabelka Club (Russia), Taiwan (China) and U21 Thailand.

The teams compete in a round robin to determine rankings. In the next round, the first team in Group A will meet the fourth team in Group B, the first team in Group B will meet the fourth team in Group A, the second team in Group A will meet the third team in Group B, the second team in Group B will meet the third team in Group A, and then the teams that will advance to the finals will be determined.

The VTV Cup champion receives 12,000 USD, the runner-up 7,000 USD, the third place 5,000 USD, the fourth place 2,000 USD; the style and encouragement prizes are 1,000 USD. In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded 9 individual titles, including the Miss prize and 500 USD in prize money.

The tournament quality is highly appreciated with the two host teams Vietnam, U21 Thailand, especially the defending champion Korabelka (Russia). Through the tournament, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will prepare best for the 2025 World Cup and SEA Games 33, while U21 Vietnam will practice and compete towards the 2025 U21 World Cup.

Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet said: "The Vietnamese women's volleyball team does not have many changes in terms of strength and playing style compared to the AVC Nations Cup 2025. However, at the VTV Cup 2025, we have higher professional requirements for athletes, especially in step 1."

According to General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation Le Tri Truong, the tournament is an opportunity for the two teams to review preparations for the goals in 2025. Especially for the Vietnam U21 team, there is an opportunity to compete with strong opponents because the young generation has less opportunity to compete than the national team.
