This is the final match of the Vietnam U21 women's team at this year's tournament. The team has ended its eventful journey at the world youth tournament.

First, the Vietnam U21 women's volleyball team won 4 out of 5 matches in the group stage, taking second place in the group and qualifying for the round of 16. However, the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) unexpectedly canceled the results of 4/5 of our matches and the Vietnam Volleyball Federation (VFV) is still appealing this decision.

The team then dropped to the bottom of the group, having to play the 17th-24th place match against the Egyptian U21 women's team. We won that match, then played the 17th-20th place match against the Chile U21 women's team.

After losing to the Chilean women's team, the Vietnam U21 women's team played the 19th place match against the Dominican U21 women's team and won. Coach Nguyen Trong Linh's team ranked 19th overall.

After finishing their journey at the World Youth Championship, the Vietnam U21 women's volleyball team will return home tomorrow (August 18). The Vietnam youth women's team will not have any major tournaments from now until the end of the year.

However, Vietnamese women's volleyball at the national team level still has two tournaments worth watching this year. The first will be the world championship, taking place from August 22 to September 7 in Thailand. After that, the national team will attend the 33rd SEA Games in December, also in Thailand.

The Vietnamese women's volleyball team is the current Southeast Asian champion. We have made great progress compared to the past 20 years, when for the first time in this period, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team defeated Thailand in an official tournament.
