At noon on April 25, the Vietnamese women's futsal team (ranked 11th in the world ) had their final friendly match in Japan with the Japanese women's futsal team (ranked 10th in the world).

Facing an opponent who has won the Asian championship twice and is ranked higher on the FIFA rankings, the Vietnamese women's futsal team proactively played defensively.

However, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang's team still conceded a goal in the 13th minute. From a left corner kick, Eguchi Mika shot straight at the goal of the Vietnamese women's futsal team, allowing Ikadai Risa to skillfully touch the ball and score the opening goal for the Japanese women's futsal team.

Conceding an early goal, the Vietnamese girls still played with focus and tried to find scoring opportunities. But the score remained the same at the end of the first half.

In the second half, the Japanese women's futsal team continued to play aggressively and scored three more goals in the 21st, 24th and 28th minutes. Meanwhile, the Vietnamese women's futsal team, despite their best efforts, could not penetrate the home team's defense.

Hoping to find a goal, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang let the Vietnamese women's futsal team play power play tactics (no goalkeeper) in the final minutes of the match.

As a result, with only 31 seconds left in the match, Thu Xuan scored an honorary goal for the Vietnamese women's futsal team after coordinating to bring the ball down the sideline and then cross it inside.

Despite losing 1-4 to the Japanese women's futsal team, the Vietnamese women's futsal team gained valuable experience. Coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang had the opportunity to experiment with many formations and tactics to deal with different situations in order to aim for the final round of the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship in China next May.

Previously, the Vietnamese women's futsal team beat Fugador Sumiga Ladies Club 2-0 on April 23, with Thanh Ngan scoring a brace.

On May 1, the Vietnamese women's futsal team will go to China and have a friendly match with the Chinese women's futsal team on May 3, before entering the final round of the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship.

The Vietnamese women's futsal team is in Group B and will meet Hong Kong (May 7), the Philippines (May 9) and Iran (May 11).

The goal of coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang and his team is to be in the top 3, thereby winning a ticket to the 2025 Women's Futsal World Cup in the Philippines at the end of the year.
