Vietnam futsal team gathers to prepare to face Paraguay and Argentina

The Vietnam futsal team will gather again from May 8 to 31 at the District 8 futsal stadium (HCMC) with 19 players.

Coach Giustozzi Diego Raul retained 16/23 players called up at the beginning of the year and gave opportunities to 3 new players: goalkeeper Nguyen Hoang Anh (Sahako) and 2 new players: goalkeeper Nguyen Huu Phuc (Sanvinest Khanh Hoa ) and Tran Nhat Trung (Sahako).

By May 31, the Vietnamese futsal team will have reduced the list to 16 players and begin a training trip to South America. This training trip is a replacement plan for futsal being eliminated from the competition at the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia.

During this training trip, Paraguay is the first place where the Vietnamese futsal team will train and have 3 friendly matches with the national futsal team (June 4, 6 and 8). Immediately after that, coach Giustozzi Diego Raul and his team will have 3 more quality friendly matches with the Argentine futsal team on June 10, 12 and 14.

Of which, Paraguay is ranked 9th on the world futsal rankings, Argentina is ranked 4th and won the 2016 Futsal World Cup. Friendly matches with two high-class opponents will bring great benefits to the players of the Vietnamese futsal team.

These are great efforts of VFF in focused investment, ensuring to help Vietnamese futsal have the best preparation for the 2024 Asian futsal qualifying round, next October.
