As soon as water and mud were discovered flooding the school grounds, school staff promptly evacuated 301 boarding students to a safe location.
Heavy rains caused three concrete embankments of the school to collapse, making it unsafe; more than 200 cubic meters of mud and soil flooded into the school grounds, damaging all mattresses, blankets, clothes and belongings of students.
Mr. Hoang Tien Dung, Secretary of the Party Committee of Thanh Tin commune, said that the reason for the water and mud flooding into the school campus was due to heavy rains that carried away a lot of trash and dry trees, causing blockages in drainage ditches and sewers.

On September 9, the commune government gave students a day off to deal with damaged boarding school supplies and clean the school.
At the same time, the budget will be used to buy new blankets and mosquito nets in time to ensure that students can return to school as usual on September 10.
Authorities, parents and the school are urgently clearing mud and soil, reinforcing the landslide area, and providing necessary living supplies for boarding students.

In the coming time, Thanh Tin commune will continue to mobilize human resources to repair and clear the flow, and at the same time propose to superiors to support funding for repairing school facilities.
