Tuyen Quang: Meeting to discuss the issue of charging entrance fees to the Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark and solutions for tourism development.

On the morning of December 15th, the People's Committee of Tuyen Quang province held a meeting to discuss solutions for implementing several aspects of collecting entrance fees to the Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark; and solutions to leverage the potential and national and international awards to promote tourism development in the area.

Comrade Vuong Ngoc Ha, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, chaired the meeting. Attending the meeting were leaders from several departments and agencies, and the Provincial Tourism Association.

Commenting on the preparation of the draft resolution on collecting entrance fees for the Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark, delegates generally agreed that implementing the fee collection would raise awareness among tourists about protecting the landscape, nature, and environment. They also stated that the fee collection aligns with regulations, creates a fund for improving infrastructure, cleaning up the environment at the destination, and raising community awareness by fostering financial responsibility for conservation, helping tourists become more aware of their impact.

Also at the meeting, delegates focused on contributing ideas to the draft plan for leveraging the values ​​of international and national awards to create momentum for tourism development in the province. This included utilizing the cultural sector's facilities to welcome tourists, with a focus on promoting the value of the " World's Leading Cultural Destination 2025" title recently awarded to Vietnam's Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark at the World Travel Awards; the World's Leading Destination award for Lo Lo Chai Village; and other international and national awards...

The leader of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism delivered a speech at the meeting.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vuong Ngoc Ha requested that departments and agencies base their recommendations to the Provincial People's Committee on legal regulations to explain to the Provincial People's Council the basis for drafting the Resolution on collecting entrance fees for the Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark.

At the same time, the collective intelligence of each unit, department, sector, and cultural destination in the province should be focused on perfecting a plan to leverage the value of international and national awards to create momentum for tourism development in the province; this plan should include the province's overall goals and the specific plans of each unit and destination. Through this, the unique characteristics and beauty of ethnic culture and natural landscapes will continue to be preserved and promoted for tourism development in the province.
