AI applications in finance and insurance

NDO - On February 28, UEH School of Technology and Design (CTD), a member school of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, the Institute of Intelligent and Interactive Technology, a unit under CTD, in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Technology and Innovation Incubation, organized a scientific seminar on "AI applications for financial and insurance organizations".

The event was organized to explore and discuss practical applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in the fields of finance and insurance, and provide a comprehensive perspective on how to exploit AI potential effectively and sustainably in the finance-insurance industry.

At the seminar, delegates said that in the context of strong digital transformation, AI is becoming a powerful tool to help financial institutions improve their credit assessment capabilities, forecast risks, personalize customer service and optimize operations.

However, along with outstanding benefits, the application of AI also poses many challenges such as data security, risks from algorithms and impacts on traditional workflows.

The seminar is the first event in a series of activities in 2025 organized by the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Technology and Innovation Incubation. Thereby, promoting technology application and developing an open innovation startup ecosystem in Vietnam and the region.

This activity is also part of the CTD Learning & Sharing series of activities, aiming to share knowledge, connect experts, businesses and communities, creating practical values for sustainable development.

The seminar “AI Applications for Financial and Insurance Organizations” includes three in-depth presentations, as well as sharing practical perspectives from experts in the fields of AI and finance-insurance.

Accordingly, experts introduced neural network technology and Transformer, two modern technology trends in the field of artificial intelligence; introduced the model of using artificial neural networks (ANN) in credit risk assessment at Vietnamese enterprises; introduced AI solutions in financial analysis and financial assistants.

The seminar also focused on discussions for experts and delegates attending the event to exchange and answer questions about hot issues in the fields of AI and finance-insurance.
