Application of digital technology in population work

DNO - The Department of Population has just organized a training course on "Digital literacy" and the application of digital technology in population and development work for the population civil servants and officials of 18 medical centers in the Southern region.

MSc. Phung Thi Huong Hanh, Head of the Department of Population of Da Nang city, gave a speech at the training class.

This is a practical activity to implement Plan No. 109/KH-SYT dated July 2, 2025 of the Department of Health on the movement "Digital Education for All" associated with "Digital Learning" in the entire health sector of Da Nang, while realizing the spirit of Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on promoting science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation.

Ms. Phung Thi Huong Hanh, Head of the Da Nang City Population Department, affirmed: "The implementation of 'Digital Popular Education' and the application of digital technology in population and development work is not simply a matter of popularizing technological knowledge, but also an important step in transforming working mindsets, contributing to improving the effectiveness of population and development work in the new period."

MSc. Vo Chi Trung, Head of Population and Development Department, is the lecturer of the training course.

The training course was attended by nearly 40 population officials from 18 Southern Regional Health Centers. Trainees were introduced to Resolution 57-NQ/TW and the importance of digital transformation in the population sector, learned basic knowledge about artificial intelligence (AI), ChatGPT tool, information technology application skills, and used support tools in professional tasks to contribute to improving efficiency, saving time and improving work quality.

The course content is designed to be practical, focusing on direct operational skills such as: installing and using ChatGPT, writing invitations, planning, reporting with AI; building communication messages, video scripts; creating data tables, charts and survey descriptions. In addition, students are also guided to apply QR codes and Google Forms, Google Sheets to support surveys, communication and evaluation of the performance of the Population - Health - Children collaborators.

The course created a forum for sharing experiences in using AI in population work, thereby arousing the spirit of proactive, creative and flexible learning in applying digital technology to each specific task. Many trainees highly appreciated the applicability of the training content and proposed to replicate this training model throughout the population sector in Da Nang city.
