Applying market research data to improve destination promotion effectiveness

DNO - On the morning of May 11, the City Tourism Promotion Center (Department of Tourism) and Outbox Company Limited (abbreviated as Outbox) signed a cooperation agreement to accompany and support Da Nang destination in the digital transformation process through the application of market data to improve the effectiveness of promotion, advertising and destination management.

Accordingly, in the 2023-2024 period, the cooperation focuses on 3 key items: supporting the sharing and updating of tourism market data for the Department of Tourism and the City Tourism Promotion Center to refer to in serving the management and operation of destinations; cooperating in implementing the pilot development of the Index of Danang Destination Attractiveness (IDDA) system; supporting training to improve market research capacity and application of tourist data for the city's tourism human resources.

The content of cooperation in implementing the pilot development of the IDDA system is monitored and updated regularly, aiming to comprehensively improve the competitiveness and attractiveness of tourists to Da Nang.

Da Nang is the pioneer in Vietnam to conduct regular surveys to measure tourist satisfaction and local business confidence.

Building a systematic index system and regularly monitoring progress is a scientific and practical basis for the city to continuously improve and enhance operational efficiency and promote local tourism.

The survey program was built with 2 main research subjects, including 2 groups: domestic and international tourists experiencing tourism in Da Nang and businesses operating at destinations (accommodation and attractions).

The program is expected to be put into operation in the second quarter of 2023 by encoding QR code-initiated survey forms and placing them at accommodation establishments, tourist attractions, Da Nang airport, etc. to collect necessary data.

According to Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism Nguyen Xuan Binh, in the first quarter of 2023, Da Nang led the country in growth in revenue from accommodation and food services, up nearly 74% over the same period in 2022.

According to information released by Outbox, in the first quarter of 2023, Da Nang ranked second in the ranking of tourism brands loved and chosen by Vietnamese tourists. These are positive and encouraging signs for the city's tourism.

Digital transformation in the tourism sector is an inevitable trend in promoting and approaching potential customers, evaluating and determining the competitiveness of destinations, thereby having appropriate solutions to improve adaptability and serve target customers.

It is known that Outbox was established in 2017, is a market research company focusing on the leading tourism and hotel sector in Vietnam as well as the Southeast Asia - Pacific region.
