Once again, the fresh, sweet lychees of the main season from Luc Ngan lychee orchard, Bac Giang , had the opportunity to conquer Thai consumers in an event organized by Central Retail, a member of Central Group Thailand, on July 12 at the Centralworld shopping mall in Bangkok.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Jariya Chirathivat, Vice President of Central Group, emphasized that Vietnam is one of Thailand’s most important trading partners and one of the countries with the largest potential for exporting fruits and vegetables in ASEAN. Ms. Jariya shared that the event “Exclusive Vietnamese Lychee” continues the success of cooperation and building a strong relationship between the two countries during the lychee harvest season with the highest quality products of the year.

Also attending the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Phan Chi Thanh highly appreciated Central Retail's efforts to promote Vietnamese fruits in the Thai market, contributing to restoring
agricultural cooperation between the two countries. The Ambassador said that the second launch of Luc Ngan lychee products in Thailand will help bring more Vietnamese fruits to Thailand as well as attract tourists from third countries to the two countries. The Ambassador expressed his belief that, with the enthusiasm of businesses promoting agricultural cooperation between Vietnam and Thailand, Vietnamese lychees will achieve many successes in Thailand and expand more strongly to the international market in the future. This year, Central Retail exported more than 3 tons of Luc Ngan lychees to Thailand with full logos and labels as well as information on GlobalGAP certification and geographical indication stamps. Vietnamese lychee products will be sold by Central on the shelves of the Tops supermarket system and Tops Food Hall located in Central's shopping centers in Bangkok. Each box of Vietnamese lychee weighing 1kg will be sold at the price of 279 baht, equivalent to 200,000 VND. Sharing with reporters, Ambassador Phan Chi Thanh expressed his joy at attending the event introducing Luc Ngan lychee products to consumers in Thailand. The Ambassador emphasized that if this work is carried out regularly, it will become a very good direction in agricultural cooperation between the two countries. The Ambassador said that there needs to be coordination between import-export companies, purchasing companies, and businesses or farmers in lychee growing localities to organize a supply chain, ensuring the shortest possible time to bring lychee from the garden to shelves in Bangkok. Meanwhile, Mr. Paul Le, Vice President of Central Group, praised Vietnamese lychees as the best in the world with a sweet and aromatic flavor that is not too harsh and small seeds. He also said that the quantity of Vietnamese lychees that Central exports to Thailand increases every year. Currently, Central Retail is making efforts to optimize the supply chain and logistics services to shorten the time it takes to bring products from harvest to shelves, improve product quality, and thereby increase the quantity of lychees sold on the market.
Previously, on May 16, in Bac Giang province, the signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement between Central Retail Vietnam Group and the People's Committee of Bac Giang province on the consumption of lychees in the 2023 crop took place. According to the cooperation agreement, Central Retail will implement many solutions to promote the consumption of Bac Giang lychees, aiming to achieve the consumption plan of about 300 tons this year. |
