Indian doctor Saurabh Sethi, a medical expert trained at Harvard (USA), emphasizes the role of nutrition in reducing the risk of cancer.
He offers advice based on scientific research, pointing out three types of drinks rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatories that have been proven effective in preventing the risk of cancer.
Green tea
Green tea is rich in the antioxidant EGCG, which helps protect cells from damage. Many studies have shown that drinking green tea regularly can reduce the risk of breast, prostate and colorectal cancer. Experts recommend drinking 2-3 cups a day.
Unlike black tea, green tea does not undergo fermentation, thus retaining its powerful polyphenol content.
These compounds help regulate cell growth, reduce inflammation and prevent tumor formation, making green tea an important beverage in a cancer prevention regimen.
Matcha with green leafy vegetables
Matcha - a powdered form of green tea leaves - provides a concentrated dose of antioxidants. When combined with kale, celery or spinach, matcha becomes a nutrient-rich drink that supports the immune system and fights free radical damage.
Matcha is rich in chlorophyll and catechins, which help to purify the body. Because the whole tea leaf is used, the amount of antioxidants in matcha is much higher than in regular brewed tea, providing a stronger protective effect against oxidative stress and the risk of cancer.
Turmeric milk
Turmeric milk is rich in curcumin, a compound with powerful anti-inflammatory properties. Regular consumption may help reduce the risk of gastrointestinal and lung cancers, while also protecting cell health and slowing oxidative damage.
Curcumin inhibits the growth of cancer cells and strengthens the antioxidant defense system. When combined with black pepper, the absorption of curcumin increases significantly, making turmeric milk a simple yet effective drink for cancer prevention.
