In the first 3 months of the year, the Commune Farmers' Association coordinated with the Commune People's Committee and relevant agencies to implement winter-spring crop production in accordance with the recommended crop schedule and variety structure. The whole commune sowed 236.6 hectares of rice, of which short-term rice varieties accounted for a high proportion, reaching 99.5%; maintained production of 164 hectares of various vegetables, 77 hectares of peanuts; well controlled the disease situation in livestock, implemented foot-and-mouth disease vaccination; reviewed and prevented African swine fever, lumpy skin disease in buffaloes and cows and vaccinated animals against rabies; maintained production on nearly 1 hectare of aquaculture area; effectively implemented forest fire prevention and control, strengthened management, protection and inspection of burning of vegetation by people during the hot season.
The Commune Farmers' Association promotes the emulation movement "Good farmers in production and business", arousing the spirit of positivity, initiative, creativity and bold application of scientific and technical advances in production. The movement promotes the spirit of solidarity, helping each other develop the economy , reducing poverty sustainably through sharing experiences, supporting plants, breeds and production techniques. In addition, directing branches to actively propagate and mobilize members to maintain and replicate effective economic models such as: mushroom growing, shallot growing, raising free-range chickens, cows, wild boars, making rice paper... contributing to the development of household economy, increasing income.
In addition, effectively organize professional associations; deploy for members to register for the title of good farmer and businessman at all levels; coordinate to support 1 reformed person to access a loan from the Social Policy Bank with an amount of 100 million VND to develop livestock models and improve their lives. In addition, coordinate with the Commune People's Committee to distribute seedlings to 7 households registered to implement the economic garden model; plant 100 grapefruit trees at households in Phuoc Thuan - Phuoc Hau village; support 30kg of fertilizer, 20 working days to take care of the fruit garden for Phung Trong Nhan household (Dieu Phong village); mobilize people to restore production of 2.5 hectares of peanuts and corn on abandoned agricultural land in Thai Lai and Hoa Khuong Dong villages.
At the same time, coordinate with the Center for Biotechnology to implement a pilot model of raising snails and fish combined with hydroponic vegetable growing in Dieu Phong village and Phuoc Thuan - Phuoc Hau village. Up to now, the model has developed well. In addition, the association focuses on improving the quality of branch activities, maintaining regular monthly meetings. In the first quarter of 2025, introduce 4 outstanding members to the Party for consideration and admission. In social security work, coordinate to organize visits and give gifts to families of martyrs and policy families in difficult circumstances; the branches actively mobilize to give 105 Tet gifts to elderly, sick and disadvantaged farmer households with more than 32 million VND.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh, Chairwoman of the Farmers' Association of Hoa Nhon Commune, said: "The Farmers' Association of the Commune always strives to accompany people in building and developing effective and sustainable economic models. At the same time, it is clear that in order to increase income and improve the lives of members, it is necessary to change production thinking, boldly apply science and technology, and unite and support each other in economic development. In the coming time, the association will coordinate with functional sectors and resources to replicate typical models, support members in accessing capital, seeds, techniques and product consumption, actively contributing to local development."
