An Giang is famous for its heroic cultural and historical relics, beautiful natural scenery, rivers, wild and majestic mountains and forests. In addition, An Giang is also a place where the cuisines of different regions and ethnic minorities of Khmer, Cham, and Hoa live together. Each dish has its own unique blend and combination, such as: Ni rice, Ca Pua, Tung Lo Mo, Goat curry, traditional cakes... of the Cham ethnic minority, or dishes such as: Burned chicken, Fruit Chuc beef porridge, Stinging papaya, Katum cake... of the Khmer ethnic minority.

Each ethnic group has its own unique way of preparing different dishes, containing the typical and distinctive cultural features of each community. In addition to the above dishes, An Giang also has many delicious dishes, such as: Steamed chicken with Chuc leaves, scorpions, leafhoppers, mountain crabs, mountain snails, beef porridge with Chuc fruit, durian salad, mango pickles, Siamese sticky rice, dried snake, Bay Nui beef, Long Xuyen broken rice; crab vermicelli, Chau Doc fish vermicelli; Ken vermicelli, Thoai Son shrimp noodle soup; Phu My rice paper... That creates diversity and richness for An Giang cuisine.

Therefore, every time coming to An Giang, discovering the culinary culture becomes more special, having a "strong attraction" for tourists. Mr. Ngo Hoang Huan (Da Nang City) shared: "Anyone who travels is interested in learning about factors such as: What to eat, what to see, what to play. When coming to An Giang, in addition to learning about the culture, experiencing the community life of ethnic minorities, and exploring the beautiful nature, my family and I are very interested in learning about and enjoying delicious food and attractive specialties at the tourist attractions. I am especially impressed with the rustic dishes, imbued with the flavor of the mountains and forests, such as: Banh xeo with wild vegetables, grilled chicken, dried foods, fish sauce... and the extremely famous hot pot with fish sauce".

Not only serving the simple eating and drinking needs of tourists, cuisine is increasingly becoming an important and attractive factor, strongly influencing the decision to choose a destination and stimulating the spending ability of tourists. Culinary culture contributes to creating a good image of people and localities.

“There are many delicious dishes in An Giang, especially dried foods and fish sauce. Although I have not had the opportunity to visit An Giang to enjoy them, my friends have known about these dishes through videos and pictures on social networks. We plan to go to An Giang together, both to experience tourism and enjoy delicious dishes, unique and attractive specialties” - Ms. Lam Ngoc Tu (Ho Chi Minh City) shared.

In addition, in An Giang, each season has its own specialties, tourists must come to experience and explore to fully feel. Besides, many culinary products have become meaningful goods and gifts. In the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program, An Giang builds and forms a traditional culinary brand, typical of the locality in the form of OCOP products, bringing high efficiency, loved by tourists, such as: Palm sugar, salted canarium, Cham beef sausage, dried foods, fish sauce, specialty cakes...

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Nhung (Dong Nai province) said: “Before choosing An Giang as a destination, I went on social networks to look up the local specialties. Every time I updated, the list of places to eat in An Giang always increased”. Ms. Le Thi Yen Linh (Ho Chi Minh City) expressed: “I have been to An Giang many times, each time giving me new experiences. The dishes all have their own flavors. In particular, I really like eating fish sauce hotpot, the hotpot broth is cooked from fish sauce with rich flavor combined with fresh fish and vegetables from the river. Every year, when I travel to An Giang, my whole family has to eat fish sauce hotpot before leaving”.

With its richness, diversity, harmony and sophistication, cuisine is an attractive tourism product for visitors. The beauty and uniqueness of cuisine contribute to creating the "motivation" for An Giang to retain visitors, making them come back, contributing to introducing it to friends at home and abroad.
