Among the countless attractive topics for music , surely those who sing, compose songs or stage a cultural program on revolutionary topics all have very special emotions. Because, that not only arouses patriotism, national pride in themselves and everyone but is also a way to praise and show gratitude for the heroic feats of the army, of soldiers for peace and happiness today.
GLORIOUS UNCLE HO'S SOLDIERS
During the days of commemorating the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 24, 1944 - December 24, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day, songs with proud melodies resounded across the country. At Hung Vuong Square ( Bac Lieu City), the art program "Glory of the Heroic Army" treated the provincial audience to a musical feast on the theme of revolution. The 80-year journey of building, fighting and growing up of the People's Army was vividly depicted through songs that accompanied the nation during the years of war and war such as: Country, Melody of the Fatherland, Truong Son Dong - Truong Son Tay, Green Leaves, Red Flower Color, Le Thi Rieng ...
Ms. Tran Thuy Phuong - Deputy Director of the Provincial Cultural Center, said: “With the special meaning of the anniversary, we staged the program based on the idea of taking Uncle Ho's soldiers as the consistent image. Through the performances, we want the audience to feel a heroic army ready to fight, sacrifice, defeat any enemy, with glorious and heroic feats that have been deeply engraved in the history of the nation. Especially, it exudes the beauty of the soldiers who "divided Truong Son to save the country" during wartime to the soldiers who are trying to continue writing heroic history in peacetime".
When the melodies and lyrics “Go away, go away to preserve the mountains and rivers. Go away, go away, rather die than retreat” in the song Liberation Army or “There was a soldier, that spring left from a poor thatched roof. There was a soldier, that spring left and never returned. His name was carved into the mountain stone, the clouds turned into bamboo shadows” in The Color of Red Flowers … were played, it made the audience feel gratitude, trust and pride in Uncle Ho’s soldiers.

FOLLOWING IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF OUR FATHERS AND BROTHERS
Not only is it an endless source of inspiration for musical composition, the Vietnam People's Army soldiers are also a topic of special significance to singers, especially young singers who are breathing the peaceful atmosphere that was exchanged for the blood and bones of their ancestors.
Although he has not been involved in the arts for long, singer Ho Minh Khanh (Cao Van Lau Theater) is often chosen to perform revolutionary songs. This brings joy but also puts Minh Khanh under a bit of pressure when he has to convey the spirit and meaning of revolutionary music. “Although I am a young person who has access to many types of modern music, I love revolutionary music passionately. Every time I am assigned to perform songs about the People's Army, Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, etc., I feel a strong love for the country, pride and deep gratitude to those who have sacrificed their lives to gain independence and freedom for the nation. Therefore, I want to use my voice and the melodies of music to spread and remind myself and the younger generation to always promote the revolutionary tradition of our ancestors to join hands to build a beautiful and rich homeland of Bac Lieu,” singer Minh Khanh shared.
Although the war has long gone, every time the melodies of revolutionary songs resound, people's hearts are filled with emotion. From there, we can appreciate the past more and live a useful life, living our best for our homeland and country today.
