Mr. Duong Van Khon, Director of Phu Quoc Today Tourism Joint Stock Company, said that in June and July, the number of customers booking tours with the company increased steadily, with 4-5 cars taking customers to tourist attractions on the island every day. The number of tourists coming to Phu Quoc increased significantly compared to the recent April 30 holiday. Part of the reason is that airfares have decreased.

Similarly, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Director of Rach Tram Travel, informed that in June, customers contacted the company to book services quite regularly. The company has tours every day, mainly trekking tours to visit primeval forests. "The number of customers of our company is increasing quite steadily in July and August, mainly tours to visit forests," Mr. Binh said.

Speaking to Thanh Nien reporter, Mr. Huynh Quang Hung, Chairman of Phu Quoc City People's Committee, said that at present, the number of tourists coming to the pearl island is quite large. On average, there are about 80 - 90 trips to and from here every day, mainly from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. In addition, there are about 50 - 60 ferry trips to and from Phu Quoc. The number of visitors to the island in recent days is about 10,000 - 12,000 visitors/day, especially on Saturdays and Sundays, the number of visitors increases by 10 - 15% compared to normal days.

According to Mr. Hung, the number of visitors increased this summer because Phu Quoc has many high-class and attractive tourism services, such as VinWonders, Grand World, Vinpearl Safari... in the north of the island; Sunset Town with its symbolic marks gradually appearing on the land and sky of Ngoc Island: Hon Thom Cable Car, Kissing Bridge, Clock Tower, Sun Signature Gallery, Sun Signature Show... ready to create "unique" experiences for visitors.

"Recently, airfares have decreased compared to the April 30 - May 1 holidays, plus this is summer vacation time, the weather is nice... so many tourists choose Phu Quoc as a resort and sightseeing destination," Mr. Hung said, adding that currently some hotels in Phu Quoc are reducing prices, including 5-star hotels but only selling to guests at 3-4 star prices.

Regarding tourists' complaints about excessively high prices during the recent April 30-May 1 holiday, local authorities have stepped up control. Many functional teams have been established to visit each business establishment to check price posting and strictly control, absolutely not allowing "overcharging" to occur.

"This summer, Phu Quoc has many cultural and artistic events, many conferences and seminars associated with tours. In particular, there are many large projects expected to be completed in July and August, so Phu Quoc will attract even more tourists in the coming time," Mr. Hung added.
