In 2024, the number of tourists and tourism revenue increased significantly, with over 6.6 million visitors, including 923,000 overnight stays, and tourism revenue reaching VND 4,130 billion, a 22.7% increase compared to 2023.

As the cradle of the nation – a place preserving many distinctive tangible and intangible cultural heritage values ​​– tourism products featuring historical and cultural relics as destinations are the majority, thereby contributing to promoting the cultural heritage of the ancestral land. Notable tours and routes that have been effectively developed include: Visiting UNESCO-listed Heritage Sites; Exploring the Natural Beauty of the Ancestral Land; Lac Long Quan National Ancestor Temple - Hung Temple Historical Site - Lai Len Shrine - Hung Lo Ancient Village; Hung Temple Historical Site - Hung Lo Ancient Village - Xuan Son National Park - Thanh Thuy Hot Spring Resort; The "Returning to Our Roots" school tourism tour... In addition, in 2024, four locations were recognized as provincial-level tourist destinations, including: the Au Co Mother Goddess Temple cultural tourism site and three tourist sites in Xuan Son commune, Tan Son district (including: Du village community tourism site, Coi village community ecotourism site and Ngoc Waterfall ecotourism site), adding more highlights to the tourism journey to the ancestral land.

The unique features of traditional festivals are one of the attractions for tourists.

Along with investing in upgrading and renewing tourism products at tourist areas and destinations, the province is also developing new products such as cultural and spiritual tourism models associated with experiencing the water procession ritual at Bach Hac intersection; educational tourism associated with Phu Tho Xoan singing at Lai Len Temple; and tea tasting experiences in Long Coc commune; and press trips such as "Returning to the Roots of the Nation" and "Discover Xuan Son"... to provide tourists with more experiences and extend their stay in the ancestral land.

Besides promoting tourism in Phu Tho province on digital platforms and participating in tourism promotion at the Vietnamese Tet Festival, the Hoa Ban Festival in Dien Bien, the Ha Giang International Culture, Tourism and Food Festival, the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival, the Vietnam International Tourism Fair - VITM Hanoi 2024..., Phu Tho's tourism industry has also launched an English-language website to promote Phu Tho tourism, visitphutho.vn; and placed links on English-language tourism promotion websites of the National Tourism Administration, provinces, cities, and some international travel companies nationwide.

Participating in school tours helps students learn more about the cultural traditions of the ancestral land.

According to Nguyen Dac Thuy, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism: The Hung Kings Commemoration Day and the Hung Kings' Culture and Tourism Week in 2025 will feature approximately 30 events and activities. This is a golden opportunity to promote and attract tourists from all over the country and internationally to Phu Tho. Phu Tho's tourism industry has collaborated with tourism businesses and travel agencies to launch a series of promotional programs to attract tourists. Participating units have also committed to the Department to ensure service quality and offer incentives to tourists.

With its unique characteristics, Phu Tho and the provinces in the cooperation group have invested in and upgraded distinctive tourism products, effectively exploiting tourism tours connecting the expanded Northwest provinces (Phu Tho, Dien Bien, Ha Giang, Hoa Binh, Lai Chau, Lao Cai, Son La, Yen Bai and Ho Chi Minh City) according to the general cooperation agreement: "Returning to the Ancestral Land - The Roots of the Nation," "The Epic of the Northwest," "The Beauty of the Highlands," contributing to attracting tourists to the ancestral land of the nation.
