* Ms. Kim Thoa Adrơng, Vice President of the Provincial Women's Union:
The revised Population Ordinance contains many important new provisions that directly impact the lives of women and families. In response to this, the Provincial Women's Union plans to develop a comprehensive and flexible communication plan to help women promptly understand and correctly implement the new regulations.
Accordingly, we will integrate the content of the Ordinance into the activities of Project 938 and Project 8, focusing on disseminating information through easily accessible forms such as training, seminars, group communication, dramatization, and community forums. The content will focus on reproductive health care, the rights and responsibilities of parents, access to healthcare services, and gender equality in the family – issues relevant to women… Through this, we will contribute to spreading the amended Population Ordinance to every family and every village.
* Ms. Trinh Thi Hang, a self-employed businesswoman in Buon Ma Thuot City:
Having children is a major event, directly affecting family happiness and the future of children. Each family has different circumstances, incomes, and health conditions; a single framework cannot be applied to all. Granting autonomy to couples is entirely reasonable, showing that the State is listening to the opinions of the people and adapting to social realities. This helps improve the quality of life for the whole family, ensures children receive the best care, and thus promotes more holistic development. I hope that the revised Population Ordinance, once promulgated, will focus on and more effectively implement population policies such as support for childbirth costs, maternal and child healthcare, as well as policies supporting education and development...
* Ms. Nguyen Thi Trang, teacher at Tay Nguyen Ethnic Boarding School (Buon Ma Thuot City):
Empowering couples to decide the number and timing of their children will facilitate better life and work planning. In reality, each family has different economic circumstances, health conditions, and life goals; therefore, they should have flexibility in choosing the appropriate time and number of children. For civil servants and public employees – who typically have stable work schedules – this flexibility allows them to be more proactive in balancing professional responsibilities and family life.
Along with autonomy, families also need full support with information and services on reproductive health and child-rearing, as well as accompanying social policies to ensure a good quality of life. If implemented comprehensively, this change will not only benefit individual families and the rights of children in families of civil servants and public employees, but also contribute to the sustainable and higher-quality development of the population for society as a whole in the future.
