Implementing the emulation movement "For the poor - No one is left behind", Mai Son district has deployed many activities with rich content and forms, suitable to reality; mobilizing the entire political system and the whole society to participate; contributing to reducing the poverty rate of the district by an average of 2%/year.

Organizations and individuals support the fund "Mai Son joins hands to eliminate temporary houses for poor households".

Comrade Ha Van Binh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, said: The District Party Committee has directed and assigned agencies, units, Party cells, and grassroots Party committees to help especially disadvantaged villages in the area. Implement preferential credit policies for poor and near-poor households; directly support house building, medical examination and treatment, livelihood support, road construction, school construction and public works. Mobilize resources to help the poor overcome difficulties, rise out of poverty, promote mobilization of support for the "For the Poor" Fund, effectively implement the movement "Mai Son joins hands to eliminate temporary houses for poor households".

From 2021 to present, Mai Son district has paid nearly 70 billion VND in monthly subsidies to 109,341 policy beneficiaries; visited and presented gifts to 2,000 people, with a total value of over 2 billion VND; supported 96.7 tons of rice to relieve hunger for 1,646 poor households. Mobilized social resources to support the construction of 398 new houses for poor households in 21 communes. The Social Policy Bank provided loans to support livelihoods for 5,635 people.

As one of the typical units supporting poor members, Mai Son District Women's Union has had many creative ways, built many models, mobilized resources to help poor members have conditions to develop the economy . Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Ngan, President of the District Women's Union said: The Union has created conditions for members to access preferential loans through the form of receiving entrustment from the District Social Policy Bank; coordinated with functional agencies to organize training courses on science and technology transfer; built economic models for women.

To support poor members in developing production, the Women's Union of Chieng Chung commune has implemented a self-managed savings model. The model is established by female members, each group has 25-30 members, operating on a voluntary, autonomous, and independent basis with operating regulations agreed upon by the group members themselves, with specific regulations on fixed monthly deposit periods, interest rates for members to borrow capital, dividend rates for members with savings deposits, etc. After 5 years of implementation, 18 self-managed savings models have been established, with nearly 500 female members participating, with a total savings fund of 1.5 billion VND, creating conditions for nearly 200 female member households to borrow capital to develop the economy.

From the emulation movement "For the poor - No one is left behind", the rural appearance in communes in the district has improved a lot, social infrastructure has been invested synchronously. Production organization, economic development, vocational training for rural workers have developed, many effective production models have been deployed and replicated. People's lives have been increasingly improved, the poverty rate has decreased to 12.86%; 3 communes Chieng Mai, Chieng Dong, Chieng Luong have basically escaped from the extremely difficult communes.

With practical and meaningful activities, the emulation movement "For the poor - leaving no one behind" in Mai Son district has achieved important results, contributing to the goal of sustainable poverty reduction, joining hands to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas.
