Violating regulations in the field of mineral exploitation, the enterprise was fined more than 212 million VND.

The Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 1952/QD-XPHC dated October 2, 2024 on administrative sanctions in the field of minerals and environmental protection against Hoan Hao Joint Stock Company at the sand and gravel mines in Tri Quan commune and Phu My commune, Phu Ninh district, Phu Tho province with a total fine of more than 212 million VND.

Hoan Hao Joint Stock Company (headquartered at Zone 8, Phu Loc Commune, Phu Ninh District) committed administrative violations such as: Mining minerals beyond the permitted depth of less than 2m with an illegal sand mining volume of 269.4m3; mining not in accordance with the approved design; not preparing and submitting a periodic environmental protection report in 2023 as prescribed; not having a written notice of the completion of environmental protection works as prescribed to the competent authority before putting the project into official operation; not carrying out environmental registration before officially operating the project.

The company was subject to an administrative fine of VND 212,500,000. Additional sanctions include: Suspension of the company's operations at the sand mines in Tri Quan and Phu My communes, Phu Ninh district for 2 months from the date of signing the decision on sanction; forced to return the illegal profits from the act of exploiting minerals beyond the permitted depth of less than 02m, which is VND 75,432,000; forced to renovate and restore the environment; and implementation of solutions to bring the exploited areas beyond the permitted exploitation area to a safe state.

Hoan Hao Joint Stock Company is also one of 35 mineral exploitation enterprises whose operations have been suspended (in Document No. 3601/UBND-NNTN dated August 30, 2024 of the Provincial People's Committee) to rectify the situation of enterprises showing signs of non-compliance with regulations on mine design in sand and gravel exploitation activities in the province.
