During the first official visit of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to the State of Kuwait from November 16-18 at the invitation of Prime Minister of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al Sabah, the two sides agreed to upgrade the bilateral relationship to a Strategic Partnership.
To mark the official visit, the two sides signed two agreements to further strengthen bilateral cooperation: the Protocol amending the Agreement on visa exemption for diplomatic and official passport holders between the Government of the State of Kuwait and the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; and the Memorandum of Understanding between the Saud Al-Nasser Al-Sabah Diplomatic Academy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait and the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam./.
