Director of the Department of Information and Library Hoang Thi Lan Nhung and Director of the Department of Museums, Information, Documents and Culture, Office of the Hungarian National Assembly Bellavics Isván co-chaired the meeting.

At the meeting, Director of the Department of Information and Library Hoang Thi Lan Nhung introduced to the delegation of the Hungarian National Assembly Office the formation, development, functions and tasks of the Department of Information and Library, Office of the Vietnamese National Assembly.
The Department of Information and Library, formerly the Center for Information, Library and Scientific Research, was established in 1992. After a period of development, on March 7, 2025, the Department of Information and Library was officially established under Resolution No. 74/2025/UBTVQH15 of the National Assembly Standing Committee.

The Department of Information and Library is a unit under the Office of the National Assembly, with the function of advising and assisting the Secretary General of the National Assembly - Head of the Office of the National Assembly in organizing, managing and implementing public information, press, propaganda and publishing work on the organization and operation of the National Assembly; collecting, supplementing, processing, storing, preserving, connecting, developing information resources, scientific management, providing information and research services to serve the activities of the National Assembly; advising on the activities of the Scientific Council of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly; researching history and museums about the National Assembly; publishing the Journal of Legislative Studies and the Electronic Journal of Legislative Studies to post, provide and exchange legislative scientific information.

The Department of Information and Library is organized into 5 divisions and units equivalent to division level, including: Press Division; Science Management Division; National Assembly Library; Vietnam National Assembly Museum and Legislative Studies Magazine.

Of which, the National Assembly Library has 26,686 traditional books and publications with a quantity of 64,445 copies; 23 newspapers, 1 English gazette and 29 magazines; all internal documents of the National Assembly and the National Assembly Office. Electronic documents include more than 76,500 digital data records with 39 fields (including 5 internal collections of the National Assembly and documents mainly in Vietnamese). The National Assembly Library also Research organizations, providing information upon request; research organizations providing forecasting information, proactively and periodically providing services to National Assembly deputies, including: Reports, research topics; sociological survey reports on policies and draft laws; translations of the Constitution and foreign legal documents; topics synthesizing information and data by socio -economic field; reference information publications.

The scope of the Vietnam National Assembly Museum includes: House of Parliament; Exhibition area on the formation and development process of the Vietnamese National Assembly and The underground archaeological exhibition area of the National Assembly House - introduces relics and artifacts from the 7th to 18th centuries. Currently, the Vietnam National Assembly Museum is being renovated and upgraded with an exhibition area of over 800m². The modern exhibition space introduces nearly 1,000 images, documents and precious artifacts, comprehensively reflecting the formation, construction and development process of the Vietnam National Assembly from 1946 to the present. The Museum organizes special topics to serve information and propaganda work, welcomes high-ranking leaders of countries to visit the Vietnam National Assembly and important events of the country. In addition, the Museum is currently preserving about 20,000 documents, images and artifacts of historical and cultural value, deeply reflecting the process of activities of the Vietnam National Assembly through the periods.

The tour of the National Assembly includes 3 main points: Dien Hong Meeting Room - where plenary sessions of the National Assembly take place; Vietnam National Assembly Museum - where images, documents, and artifacts about the history of the National Assembly are displayed, and the National Assembly Underground Archaeological Exhibition Area - introduces relics and artifacts from the 7th to 18th centuries. Registration for visiting is done via official dispatch or online.
Experiential educational activities about the National Assembly, typically the "Children's National Assembly" program (2023 and 2024) attracts hundreds of outstanding children from 63 provinces and cities across the country, contributing to fostering understanding, nurturing civic awareness and love for the Fatherland for the young generation.

In addition, the Vietnam National Assembly Museum has presided over and coordinated with relevant agencies and units to compile and publish many valuable works; consulted, provided documents, images, articles and thematic presentations for seminars, exhibitions and events on the organization and operation of the National Assembly, contributing to spreading the historical value and mission of the highest state power agency.
At the meeting, the two sides exchanged information, discussed areas of mutual interest and promoted cooperation. The two sides emphasized that the Cooperation Agreement between the Office of the National Assembly of Vietnam and the Office of the Hungarian National Assembly signed in 2022 and the contents discussed during the visit of the Hungarian National Assembly Office Delegation this time will be an important basis for continuing to promote cooperation in the coming time.

The two sides believe that, with the common determination and close support of both sides, the cooperation orientations will soon be realized through specific and practical programs and activities in the coming time such as:
Training, study and experience sharing in Hungary to learn about: research service agency model for Parliamentarians; digital transformation activities in the field of libraries and museums (including the application of artificial intelligence (AI)); mechanisms for using experts in activities such as research services, museum and library tours, etc.

Sharing documents and data such as: internal documents, legal documents, foreign experience research... between Vietnam and Hungary to enhance the exchange of information and experience in specialized fields, contributing to promoting research activities to serve the information needs of National Assembly deputies.
