USE TECHNOLOGY BUT… LIMIT PHONE USE
Without necessarily using a phone, just needing a QR code printed on paper, Ms. Cao Thi Nguyet, a teacher at Mac Dinh Chi Secondary School (Tan Hoa Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) and her students conducted interesting digital history and geography lessons.
To check the old lesson as well as see the students' lesson preparation, Ms. Nguyet conducts it through multiple choice questions with 4 options. Regardless of the topic of knowledge, Ms. Nguyet's lessons do not require students to use phones or smart devices. Instead, she gives each student a sheet of A4 paper with a QR code printed on it, which is the student's name and number in the class. In the 4 corners of the square on the paper, the QR code represents the answers A, B, C, D.

For example, in the practical lesson "Analyzing the distribution characteristics of Vietnam's main minerals" of class 8A2, Ms. Nguyet used 6 questions revolving around the general characteristics of Vietnam's mineral resources (learned in the previous lesson) combined with the knowledge learned about mineral resource classification. Students answered the questions using QR codes through the Wayground application.
After each question, Ms. Nguyet projected it onto the screen. Students chose the answer and raised that corner. Ms. Nguyet stood on the podium and used a phone with internet connection to scan the QR code of each student. At that moment, the results of the students' answers were immediately reported to the teacher's computer. Students immediately knew whether their choice was right or wrong and excitedly prepared for the next questions.
Talking to Thanh Nien reporter, Master Cao Thi Nguyet said that if digital transformation is applied and all students are required to use devices or smartphones, it is not optimal. Besides, it can also cause obstacles because not all students have enough conditions for smartphones or some students have phones but do not have internet connection... Therefore, teachers must research, update themselves, and innovate to quickly access the development of technology, apply it to teaching, support and not make it difficult for students.
ENHANCE COMMUNICATION WITH PARENTS THROUGH DIGITAL PLATFORMS
Ms. Nguyen Song Thanh Thuy, homeroom teacher of class 5/5 at Phu Tho Primary School (Phu Tho Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), also promotes digital transformation in innovating teaching methods.
Ms. Thanh Thuy uses technology to create digital lectures, organize online learning games, build digital libraries (learning materials warehouses), develop self-study and online collaboration skills, enhance communication with parents via digital platforms... These forms really bring about learning effectiveness for students.

Ms. Thanh Thuy said that she used digital tools to insert images, sounds, videos , and mind maps into the lessons. Thanks to that, students can absorb, remember longer, and be more interested in class.
At the same time, she also built a system of interactive game quizzes right in the lectures to quickly test students' understanding of the lesson. Those digital lectures are shared online so that students can review them many times at home.
"I also use platforms to design games that are closely related to the lesson content. This activity helps students review knowledge in a gentle, pressure-free way, developing quick thinking skills. At the same time, the game results are displayed immediately, helping teachers grasp the level of understanding of students. Shy students also become bolder when participating in the form of digital interaction," said Ms. Thuy.
During the process of teaching digital transformation application lessons, teachers at Phu Tho Primary School also created a channel to enhance communication with parents via digital platforms, helping to connect schools and families in teaching students.
Ms. Nguyen Song Thanh Thuy shared: "Through the process of applying it to students in class, I see that the results are that students are bold, confident, and actively seek out learning materials outside of textbooks. Their skills in using information technology, working in groups, and presenting are clearly improved. On the other hand, the school and family will have a closer relationship in managing students' learning content."
" KEEPING THE FIRE" IN THE CLASSROOM TO KEEP THE TEACHER-STUDENT RELATIONSHIP WARM
Ms. Cao Thi Nguyet shared that if we know how to use technology properly, teaching will be much easier, especially in stages such as coming up with ideas and preparing teaching plans. Technology and artificial intelligence (AI) will become useful tools to help teachers have a "virtual assistant", suggesting new teaching ideas, supporting the preparation of study sheets, test questions, suggesting learning games, creating mind maps quickly... helping to save a lot of time.
However, Ms. Nguyet still pays attention to "keeping the fire" in the classroom to connect students during the actual teaching process in class. Technology and AI can provide information faster and more accurately through just a short command, so if there is no change in teaching, it can lose connection with students.

From then on, in each lesson, Ms. Nguyet "shows students clearly that technology is a support tool and teachers will change from knowledge transmitters to designers and guides students in the right direction of learning. Teachers focus on innovating teaching methods through group discussion, debate, and debate activities... This is something that technology cannot do," this teacher shared.
Like Ms. Nguyet, Ms. Thuy also believes that during the teaching process in class, teachers need to pay attention to observing students' emotional expressions, attitudes, and psychology to adjust teaching methods appropriately. When students feel the care and sharing of teachers, teachers and students will be more connected. Students feel that "teachers understand them".
No matter how new or exciting technology and AI are, every teacher understands that they should not abuse technology to make the classroom cold, but need to "keep the fire" to keep the teacher-student relationship warm.
