The event is considered a major turning point for the domestic endurance sports movement, and at the same time opens up opportunities for Da Nang to affirm its position as an international sports destination. This is also the first time Vietnam has hosted the most rigorous tournament of the IRONMAN system, with the following competitions: 3.8 km swimming, 180 km cycling and 42.2 km running.

The full IRONMAN tournament will take place in parallel with IRONMAN 70.3 Da Nang – a tournament that has become a familiar brand since 2015, attracting thousands of domestic and international athletes.

Speaking at the program, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People's Committee, affirmed that the city will fully prepare infrastructure, human resources and organization plans for the tournament to take place at the highest standards. "This is an opportunity for Da Nang to affirm its position, at the same time promote the community sports movement, build a healthy and sustainable lifestyle," she emphasized.

“Da Nang has proven to be a great host destination for IRONMAN 70.3 since 2015. Hosting the full race is an important step forward for the global athlete community as well as the local people,” said Jeff Edwards, Managing Director of the Asia Region of the IRONMAN Group.

The organizers expect the 2026 tournament to not only be a top challenge for endurance athletes, but also an opportunity for tourists to experience a dynamic, hospitable Da Nang with great potential for sports development.
