Vietnam brings home 3 gold medals at SIIF 2024 International Exhibition

With 6 outstanding works brought to the SIIF 2024 International Exhibition, the Vietnamese delegation brought home 1 Grand Prize, 3 gold medals, 2 silver medals and special international prizes from international organizations from Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and Malaysia.

From November 27 to 30, a delegation of officials from the Vietnam Fund for Supporting Technical Innovation (VIFOTEC) participated in the International Exhibition on Science and Technology (SIIF 2024) in Korea. The delegation was led by Secretary General of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations Nguyen Quyet Chien.

This is the largest exhibition on Science and Technology, jointly organized by the Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA), the Korea Intellectual Property Office (KIPO), the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) together with the Ministry of Science, the Ministry of Commerce, the Federation of Industry, the Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises, the International Trade Association, the Association of Women Inventors, the Korean Patent Attorneys Association, etc.

SIIF is the world's largest invention exhibition, where inventors introduce new ideas and patented products to investors, receive comprehensive information on commercialization of inventions from leading lawyers and experts in the field of intellectual property, and receive advice on international patenting processes and technology transfer, thereby opening up many opportunities for inventors to commercialize their works.

At the Exhibition, the Vietnamese delegation introduced 06 outstanding projects participating in the fields of: mechanical automation, Educational Technology, material technology and agriculture, forestry and fishery.

The award-winning Vietnamese projects were highly appreciated by the jury for their applicability and commercialization potential. Among them were 1 Grand Prize, 3 gold medals, 2 silver medals and special international prizes from international organizations from Saudi Arabia, Singapore and Malaysia.

3. Dr. Pham Ngoc Son, Hanoi Capital University, Building a creative teaching ecosystem model for middle school students - Gold Medal - Special prize from KIPA Organizing Committee - Special prize from Malaysian Association of Scientists (MARS)

4. Dr. Ngo Xuan Cuong, MSc. Nguyen Anh Dung, MSc. Le Van Duyen, Department of Welding and Surface Treatment - Institute of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Weapons and Equipment/Institute of Military Ship Design, General Department of Defense Industry Design and manufacture of automatic welding equipment with two simultaneous torches and stepless centering to produce multi-sized rollers - Gold Medal - Special Award from Digital Ocean - Saudi Arabia - Special Award from Citizen Innovation - Singapore.

5. AHLĐ.TS. Hoang Duc Thao Vietnam Science and Technology Joint Stock Company (Busadco) Offshore breakwater technology - Silver Medal - Special award of the Malaysian Association of Scientists (MARS)

6. Dr. Hoang Hai Hien, Engineer Doan Quang Trong, Master Huynh Hoang Quoc, Scientech Research and Technology Transfer Company Limited, Debio Chemicals - 25 applications in agriculture - exploitation and processing of natural rubber latex - Silver Medal - Special Award of the Malaysian Association of Scientists (MARS)
