According to the annual report of universities in 2025, up to now, there are 13 universities with revenue of thousands of billions. Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry has not yet reported this year, however last year the school had revenue of 1,011.6 billion VND.

Here, schools have provided specific information on total expenses for activities according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, including items such as: salary and income expenses; expenses for facilities and services; expenses to support learners and other expenses.

The article only lists expenses for facilities and services (including expenses for training, expenses for research, expenses for staff development, general expenses and other expenses); expenses for supporting learners (including expenses for scholarships and learning support, expenses for research activities, expenses for other activities).

However, among the 13 universities with revenue of thousands of billions, some schools publicly disclose the total expenditure figures on their websites, but do not specifically disclose the expenditures, or some schools have not yet updated this information.

Looking at the statistics, it can be seen thatFPT University has the largest revenue, 4,376.8 billion VND. Next is Van Lang University, 2,603 ​​billion VND. Third is Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, 1,887 billion VND.

Regarding training expenses, excluding some schools that have not yet been published on the website, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology has the highest among the schools, as the report shows 319.16 billion VND, accounting for 23% of total expenses. This level may include staff development expenses and other expenses in the category of facilities and services expenses.

Hanoi University of Science and Technology ranked second in terms of training expenditure, nearly 332 billion VND, accounting for 22% of total revenue. Next was Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, nearly 160 billion VND, accounting for about 16% of total revenue.

In terms of research expenditure, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics spent up to VND547.46 billion, accounting for 40.7% of total revenue, the highest among the universities. Hanoi University of Science and Technology ranked second, spending VND116.04 billion, accounting for 7.7% of total revenue. Next was Ton Duc Thang University, VND108.13 billion, accounting for 8.8% of total revenue.

In terms of staff development costs, Hanoi University of Science and Technology leads with VND85.21 billion. Next is Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry with VND17.3 billion.

In the student support expenditure category, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology has the highest expenditure of 100 billion VND. Next is Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics with 90.26 billion VND. In third place is Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education with 71 billion VND.

The above figures show that each school has a different development strategy, total revenue, number of lecturers and students, so the expenditure on activities is also different. Some schools focus on research, others focus on training activities, staff development. Some schools promote support for scholarships, scientific research for students...
