Quang Ngai Provincial Border Guard shares difficulties with people in flood-affected areas

The recent devastating flood that swept through the South Central provinces has caused heavy damage to the people. Once the flood has passed, the work of overcoming the damage and helping people rebuild their lives is being urgently carried out by authorities at all levels, armed forces and people across the country.

In Quang Ngai , the Border Guard force is also actively coordinating with local authorities and people to share with the flood victims with the highest spirit and responsibility. Sharing the losses and difficulties of the people in the South Central provinces, the Dung Quat Port Border Guard Station (Quang Ngai Provincial Border Guard) has mobilized officers, soldiers and benefactors to join hands to support the people in the affected provinces. The campaign has raised 120 million VND.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tung Duong, Head of Dung Quat Port Border Guard Station, shared: “We mobilized officers and soldiers to donate 20 million VND, the rest was donated by businesses and philanthropists in the area where the unit is stationed. We will quickly transfer this money to the people affected by the recent flood.”

At Duc Minh Border Guard Station, officers and soldiers together with local people wrapped more than 100kg of sticky rice cakes and banh chung to give to people in flood-hit areas. “A piece when hungry is worth a package when full”, the soldiers hope that the warm cakes will help warm people’s hearts after the flood.

In recent days, units under the Quang Ngai Provincial Border Guard Command, such as Sa Ky, Duc Minh, Pho Quang, Sa Huynh Border Guard Stations and Border Guard Squadron 2, have actively and urgently coordinated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Women's Unions at all levels and local people to set up donation points, receiving nearly 30 tons of necessities, medicine, warm clothes, school books and environmental sanitation tools. These are the things people need most at this time.
