Vietnam and Japan are strengthening cooperation in areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), digital transformation and innovation. In addition, Vietnam is having close cooperation and needs to supplement Vietnam's talented, young and ambitious human resources for Japan.
Over the years, Japan has always been one of Vietnam's leading economic partners, especially in the fields of investment, trade and development assistance. Japan is currently the third largest investor in Vietnam with a total FDI capital of nearly 78.6 billion USD, focusing on the fields of processing, manufacturing and high-tech industries. In the first quarter of 2025, investment capital from Japan to Vietnam increased by more than 20%, reflecting the trend of increasingly deep cooperation between the two countries.
Recently, during his visit to Vietnam, Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru participated in the Vietnam - Japan Cooperation Forum on high technology, green transformation and semiconductors organized by the National Innovation Center.
Speaking at the forum, Mr. Truong Gia Binh - Chairman of FPT Corporation said that Vietnam and Japan are having close cooperation and need to supplement the talented, young and ambitious human resources of Vietnam. We currently have 4,500 employees in Japan in 17 offices from Sapporo to Yakushima. However, we do not want the cooperation between Vietnam and Japan to be only business-to-business in nature, but we really want to do better, which is to expand the framework of inter-governmental cooperation.
Also within the framework of the event, FPT signed a series of strategic cooperation agreements with Restar Corporation - a leading technology corporation in providing high-quality human resource solutions in Japan. Witnessing the signing ceremony were Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
With a solid foundation of cooperation and strong commitment from both sides, Vietnam-Japan relations in the fields of high technology, green transformation and semiconductors are expected to continue to develop strongly, contributing to the sustainable development and common prosperity of the two countries.
