Online promotion - a "window to the world" for Yen Bai tourism

In the digital age, when the world is flatter and information spreads instantly, online promotion strategies have become a powerful tool, not only helping Yen Bai reach tourists from all over the world but also contributing to clearly shaping its image and position on the Vietnamese and international tourism map.

Located in Phuc Son commune, Nghia Lo town, MuongLo Farmstay is a typical example of capturing trends and effectively exploiting online promotion channels.

Ms. Dinh Thi Duong, the owner of the facility, shared: "MuongLo Farmstay is a new model in the direction of agricultural experience associated with preserving Muong cultural space. Therefore, the facility regularly promotes on Facebook channels, TikTok and international travel sites such as: Vietravel, SaigonTourist , Vietnam Booking, Dat Viet Tour...".

This strategy has brought "sweet fruit". During the April 30 and May 1 holidays this year, the number of international visitors increased compared to the same period last year. Besides, through online promotion channels, we have linked up with international travel companies" - Ms. Duong happily added. Similarly, in Phinh Ho, Tram Tau district, Lau Camping Tourist Area is also reaping success thanks to online promotion.

Mr. Ha Van Hoan - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tabala Northwest Agricultural Products Investment and Development Company Limited, the project investor, emphasized: "The unit regularly promotes the image and events held at Lau Camping through social media channels. Every day, the media department will update and share images of Lau camping to introduce and promote the image to domestic and international tourists."

Efforts to "sow" beautiful images, unique "cloud hunting" moments or attractive events on the internet help Lau Camping build its own brand, becoming an ideal cloud hunting and relaxation spot for many tourists.

Not only MuongLo Farmstay or Lau Camping, but also Yen Bai tourism industry is currently shifting strongly to online promotion. Businesses, from small and medium-sized to high-end resorts, are actively applying digital technology. They not only build professional websites, present on major online booking platforms (OTA) such as Booking.com, Agoda, but also take advantage of the power of social networks, cooperate with influencers (KOLs) and deploy automated marketing tools. The effectiveness of promotional efforts, especially on online platforms, is clearly demonstrated through tourism performance.

In 2024, Yen Bai welcomed over 2.1 million visitors (270,000 international visitors), with revenue of VND 1,790 billion, exceeding the set plan. The growth momentum continued to be maintained in the first quarter of 2025. The whole province welcomed 742,335 visitors, an increase of 7.1% over the same period, including 83,582 international visitors, with revenue of VND 632.2 billion, an increase of 16.9%.

These figures far exceeded the expected growth scenario, partly thanks to the attraction of the widely promoted festivals at the beginning of the year. In particular, the recent April 30 - May 1 holiday recorded an impressive highlight. Although the total number of visitors increased slightly - 1.2%, reaching over 212,330, international visitors had an "explosion" with over 36,000 arrivals, an increase of 41% over the same period in 2024. Estimated revenue reached 181.3 billion VND, an increase of 2.4%. Many accommodation facilities in "hot spots" such as Tram Tau, Nghia Lo, Mu Cang Chai were operating at full capacity.

This success cannot be separated from the attention, orientation and support from the province. Important resolutions on orientation for the period 2021-2025, vision 2030; specific support policies on infrastructure, human resources, promotion, advertising... have created the necessary legal corridor and resources. The orientation of building the Yen Bai brand "Green, harmonious, unique and happy" with specific goals has become a guideline for promotional activities, including in cyberspace. These policies not only promote the development of the tourism industry but also contribute significantly to positioning Yen Bai as an attractive, sustainable and unique destination.

The positive results in terms of visitors and revenue, especially the impressive growth of the international market, clearly demonstrate the role of online promotion in opening the door to bring Yen Bai tourism closer to global visitors. By continuing to invest in digital infrastructure, improving capacity, innovating content and applying technology, Yen Bai can completely become an attractive and distinct destination on the domestic and international tourism map.
