On November 18 in Belém, Brazil, within the framework of the 30th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30), the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment became an official member of the "Alliance of Pioneering Countries Transforming Food Systems" (ACF).
The ACF Alliance, founded by five countries: Brazil, Norway, Cambodia, Rwanda and Sierra Leone, was announced at COP28 in Dubai in 2023. Speaking at the ACF Ministerial Meeting, Deputy Minister Le Cong Thanh said: "Joining the ACF will help promote innovation, mobilize technical support and financial resources for the agricultural sector; at the same time, create opportunities for Vietnam to share its experiences, lessons and learn from other members in the process of transforming the agricultural and food systems."
The Alliance's key principles include ensuring that the transformation of the LTTP system delivers positive changes on key outcomes such as food and nutrition security, equity and livelihoods, adaptation and resilience, emissions reduction, as well as the protection of natural ecosystems and biodiversity for the benefit of people and the planet.
The Alliance promotes equity and sustainability through the engagement of all stakeholders, while facilitating the addressing of the root causes of environmental degradation and social problems, based on a cross-sectoral approach.
In addition, the ACF Alliance is committed to working cooperatively and transparently with domestic and international partners to enhance learning, knowledge sharing and promote financial and technological cooperation.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment is the focal point, coordinating inter-sectoral activities on agriculture, natural resources, environment, climate change and food security. At COP30, in addition to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment of Vietnam, Italy and Colombia also became official members of the ACF Alliance.

Vietnamese agriculture is strongly transforming from “productivity and output” to “multi-value agriculture”, focusing on efficiency, quality, nutrition, sustainability and low emissions.
Accordingly, joining the ACF Alliance will contribute to implementing Vietnam's strategies and policies on agriculture, climate change, biodiversity, especially the National Action Plan for transforming the sustainable food system by 2030.
Becoming a member of ACF will contribute to enhancing the role and position of Vietnam's agricultural sector in international initiatives and action programs on agriculture and the food system, contributing to promoting the future of the global food system: greener, fairer and more resilient.
