Vietnam Airlines and Unitel cooperate to deploy logistics services in Laos

On October 3, in the capital Vientiane, Laos, Vietnam Airlines and Star Telecom Company (Unitel) signed a strategic cooperation agreement to deploy logistics services in Laos.

Mr. Dam Dinh Loi, Head of Vietnam Airlines' Laos Branch, said that through the signing of the cooperation agreement, Vietnam Airlines and Unitel will together build an effective logistics route system, connecting Laos with Asia, Europe, America and other regions, thereby bringing sustainable value to the Lao economy .

Lao businesses will have the opportunity to access global markets faster, safer and more cost-effectively than ever before. Shipments of high-tech products, agricultural products or strategic export items will be transported optimally, reaching international partners quickly.

Mr. Tran Trung Hung, General Director of Star Telecom Company (Unitel), said that the implementation of logistics services in Laos not only brings practical economic benefits of increasing freight transport capacity, but also promotes sustainable development for the Lao market.

Through the signing of cooperation with Vietnam Airlines, the two sides will take advantage of complementary strengths, that is, Unitel provides a modern logistics technology platform and a wide warehouse network in Laos, while Vietnam Airlines ensures efficient air transport through the global flight network. From there, a complete, synchronous and highly competitive logistics ecosystem will be formed.

In the context of deep international integration, logistics and air transport are becoming one of the key driving forces to promote economic growth in the Southeast Asian region.

With its unique location, Laos is determined to develop into a regional logistics center, a transit point as well as an important connecting role with global shipping routes.
