In mid-November, visit the southernmost province of the country to enjoy Ca Mau crab.

(Dan Tri) - The Ca Mau Crab Festival is expected to take place for 7 days in the southernmost province of the country with many activities related to the crab industry, promising to attract tourists from near and far.

On October 20, according to information from the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, Ca Mau Crab Festival is expected to take place from November 16 to 22.

There are at least 14 main activities taking place at the festival such as: Opening and closing ceremonies; crab industry exhibition and display; Ca Mau crab culinary space; crab dish preparation demonstration; setting a record for Ca Mau crab.

Along with that are seminars and forums on the crab industry; street parades; amateur music festival; visits and experiences of models, craft villages, and tourism in Ca Mau...

According to the plan of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, the opening ceremony is expected to take place on the evening of November 16, at Phan Ngoc Hien square (where the "Ca Mau shrimp" symbol over 20m high has just been inaugurated) associated with an art performance program with the theme "Ca Mau crab: Forest scent - Sea taste".

The interesting point of the festival is that visitors can watch demonstrations of crab dishes, combined with specialties from provinces and cities across the country. Visitors can also watch the contest to select the biggest crab from households in the province.

The festival is expected to have more than 200 booths with many typical products on display and exhibition related to the crab industry; start-up products, innovation and OCOP (one commune one product) products to introduce and promote local products to domestic and foreign consumers.

The organizers also said that before, during and after the festival, the province will organize tours to visit and experience the culture of the Ca Mau river region, along with visiting the Ca Mau crab farming areas and typical tourist destinations of the province.

Ca Mau Crab Festival is organized to promote the potential and strengths of Ca Mau province in terms of economy, culture, tourism, environment; investment potential and sustainable development prospects; calling for domestic and foreign organizations and individuals to invest in Ca Mau.

In particular, focusing on enhancing the Ca Mau crab brand, introducing culinary culture and the importance of the crab industry; researching, applying science and technology, and innovating in the chain of crab production, farming and processing activities to contribute to improving productivity, output, quality and competitiveness of the Ca Mau crab brand in the domestic and international markets.
