Drivers of economic growth for the southernmost region.

As one of the important sectors with a high ripple effect, Ca Mau's tourism industry is playing a key role in promoting the local socio-economic growth. According to the plan, in the last six months of 2025, the industry aims to attract approximately 2.8 million visitors, including 1.5 million in the third quarter and 1.3 million in the fourth quarter, with a projected total revenue of 3,700 billion VND.

It is estimated that Ca Mau will welcome approximately 8 million tourists in 2025, an increase of 10.3% compared to the same period last year; total revenue will reach over 8,585 billion VND, an increase of 16.8%. This is the result of continuous efforts in infrastructure investment, diversification of tourism products and improvement of service quality, contributing to bringing the growth rate of Sector III (services - tourism) to 9.25% or higher.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Thanh, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ca Mau province, said that the province is finalizing the Ca Mau Provincial Tourism Development Plan until 2030, with a vision to 2050. Along with that is the Master Plan for the preservation and promotion of the value of special national relics and the Project for the protection and promotion of the value of national treasures – creating a solid foundation for the development of cultural, historical, and spiritual tourism.

Simultaneously, the industry continues to implement the outdoor advertising project, develop tourism human resources, and invest in infrastructure at key tourist areas and destinations. This is an important step for Ca Mau to develop tourism not only extensively but also intensively, aiming for sustainability, professionalism, and modernity.

According to Mr. Thanh, the province is focusing on developing typical destinations such as: Ca Mau Cape - the southernmost point on the map of Vietnam, U Minh Ha National Park - a unique flooded melaleuca forest area, Da Bac Island, Tac Say Church, Mother of the South Sea, Bac Lieu Prince's House, Bac Lieu Nha Mat Tourist Area… These landmarks not only have cultural and historical value but also are "highlights" that attract millions of visitors every year.

“Besides investing in infrastructure, we will organize a series of events called Ca Mau - Destination 2025, most notably the 2nd Ca Mau Crab Festival – 2025 and the 'Hello Ca Mau' program to widely promote the image of this southernmost region of Vietnam to friends both domestically and internationally,” Mr. Nguyen Quoc Thanh further shared.

Businesses partner with local authorities to develop tourism.

In Ca Mau's tourism development strategy, the business sector plays a crucial role. Not only do businesses contribute to promoting tourism and service activities, but they also create jobs for local people, contributing to sustainable growth.

Mr. Mai Hoang Viet, Director of Cong Tu Bac Lieu Tourism Services Joint Stock Company, said that in the last six months of 2025, the company aims for a minimum growth of 10% compared to the first half of the year, while ensuring stable employment for more than 130 local workers.

"We are focusing on developing unique tourism products, deeply exploring the cultural values of 'Prince of Bac Lieu' and the identity of the Mekong Delta, thereby building new experiential models to attract tourists," Mr. Viet emphasized.

Specifically, this business is expanding its chain of cultural, culinary, and artistic experiences in the Mekong Delta, combined with promoting tourism both domestically and internationally. The company aims to attract an additional 40,000 visitors to the Bac Lieu Prince's House in the last six months of the year, making a positive contribution to the total number of visitors to the province.

The dynamism of businesses, coupled with the strategic direction of the locality, is helping tourism in Ca Mau become a key economic sector, closely linked to the identity, culture, and people of the Southern region.

Ca Mau is investing heavily in tourism infrastructure. Key projects such as the Ca Mau Cape National Tourist Area, coastal roads, eco-resorts, tourist ports, and a system of high-quality accommodation facilities are being urgently implemented.

In addition, the province focuses on developing high-quality human resources – a core factor determining the sustainability of the industry. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is coordinating with vocational training institutions and tourism businesses to organize training courses on professional skills, service skills, tour guiding, foreign languages, and digital skills in tourism promotion…

As a result, the workforce in the industry is becoming increasingly professional and friendly, contributing to building the image of "Ca Mau tourism - safe, friendly, and attractive" in the hearts of tourists.

Accelerate and break through towards the 2030-2050 goals.

According to its development plan, Ca Mau aims to become a center for ecotourism, resort tourism, and experiential tourism in the Mekong Delta by 2030, with unique tourism products associated with the sea, forests, and local culture; and by 2050, to become an international destination for ecotourism, natural experiences, and Southern culture.

To achieve this goal, the locality has identified regional linkage as a key strategy – especially cooperation with Kien Giang, Can Tho, etc., to form inter-provincial coastal tourism routes and eco-tourism experiences. Connecting Ca Mau in the "One trip - many experiences" journey will give tourists more choices, while enhancing the province's tourism position in the regional value chain.

Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Ho Hai emphasized that, in order to accelerate and achieve breakthroughs, and ensure the economic growth targets are met by the end of the year as planned, the province will create a solid foundation to achieve double-digit growth rates in the 2026-2030 period. All levels, sectors, and the entire population need to unite as one.

"Ca Mau will inherit and build upon the achievements, overcome all difficulties, and strive to successfully achieve its goals, soon making Ca Mau a relatively developed locality in the region, worthy of being the southernmost province of the Fatherland," Mr. Hai said.

This spirit of solidarity is spreading strongly in every emulation movement, every project, every action of businesses and people. Because more than anyone else, every citizen of Ca Mau understands that the development of tourism not only brings economic benefits but also contributes to preserving culture, improving living standards, and spreading love for their homeland.

With the strong determination of the entire political system, the unity of businesses and people, Ca Mau is gradually asserting its position on the Vietnamese tourism map. From a "lowest point on the map," Ca Mau is becoming a "bright spot for tourism in the South," a place where abundant nature, friendly people, and rich cultural identity converge.

In the not-too-distant future, the journey to the southernmost point of the country will not only be a trip of discovery, but also a journey to fully experience the cultural values, people, and aspirations of this land at the edge of the nation.
