On November 5, Dong Nai Provincial Police temporarily detained Dinh Van Lien, Nguyen Thi Tuyen and Nguyen Quoc Vu to investigate the production and trade of counterfeit goods at EBC Dong Nai Medical Factory Joint Stock Company.

Dong Nai police discovered that EBC Dong Nai Medical Factory Joint Stock Company, run by Dinh Van Lien, had produced 1,652 fake Hanayuki Sunscreen Body products with an SPF index of only 51% higher than the announced number.

Lien, along with Nguyen Thi Tuyen - Deputy General Director of EBC Dong Nai and Nguyen Quoc Vu - General Director of VB Group Trading and Service Company Limited, the product consumer - were determined to have produced and traded counterfeit goods according to Article 192 of the 2015 Penal Code.

VB Group is the legal entity behind the Hanayuki cosmetics brand. Mr. Nguyen Quoc Vu, singer Doan Di Bang's husband, is the company's legal representative and General Director.

According to the National Business Registration Portal, VB Group Trading and Service Company Limited was established in April 2021. The company's main business line according to its business registration is wholesale of other household items. The company's headquarters is located in Cho Lon ward, Ho Chi Minh City. The charter capital is 8 billion VND.

At the time of establishment, the General Director and Legal Representative was Mr. Luong Minh Hung (born in 1997). However, from July 2024, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Vu (born in 1978) became the owner, Legal Representative and General Director of the enterprise. Tax declaration information shows that the enterprise has 10 employees.

In addition to VB Group, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Vu was the Legal Representative of VB Universal Trading and Service Company Limited and Steak World Private Enterprise.

VB Universal Trading and Service Company Limited, owned by Pham Thi Thanh Thuy (Doan Di Bang), was established in 2017 with a capital of 9 billion VND. However, the company was dissolved in 2022. The World Steak private enterprise operating in the culinary field was also dissolved.

As for EBC Dong Nai Medical Factory Joint Stock Company, the predecessor is EBC Giang Dien Cosmetics Company Limited, established in November 2014. The main business line is the production of cosmetics, soaps, detergents, polishes and cleaning products.

The company has a charter capital of 2 billion VND. Two individuals contributed capital, including Mr. Bui Minh Dang, who contributed 980 million VND, and Mr. Dinh Van Lien, who contributed 1.02 billion VND. Mr. Dang is the legal representative and Director of the enterprise.

In 2017, the company changed its name to EBC Giang Dien Pharmaceutical Company Limited and increased its capital to 30 billion VND. In April 2021, the company changed its name to EBC Group Company Limited and increased its charter capital to 43 billion VND. After that, the company changed its legal representative many times.

In January, EBC Group Company Limited changed its business type to EBC Dong Nai Medical Factory Joint Stock Company. The General Director and Legal Representative is Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Phuong (born in 1986).

The company has a charter capital of 60 billion VND. Shareholders contributing capital include EBC Pharmaceutical Group Joint Stock Company contributing 59.1 billion VND (98.5% of capital), Mr. Vuong Thanh Long contributing 600 million VND (1% of capital) and Mr. Pham Minh Duc contributing 300 million VND (0.5% of capital). By April, the position of General Director and Legal Representative was transferred to Ms. Do Thi Le Quyen (born in 1982).

Previously, at the end of May, the Ministry of Public Security said that VB Group had received the Hanayuki Sunscreen Body product manufactured by EBC Dong Nai Company and sold 1,652 products to the market, with a total value of more than 163 million VND.
