According to the draft Decree regulating salary policy and allowance regime for teachers, all teachers are entitled to a special salary coefficient.

In which, preschool teachers enjoy a special coefficient of 1.25, teachers at other levels enjoy a special coefficient of 1.15.

Thus, if the draft is passed, high school teachers' salaries will be increased by 1.25 times. The highest level is 18.2 million VND/month, applied to teachers of grade I, level 8. The lowest level is 6.29 million VND/month, applied to teachers of grade III, level 1.

The above salary table does not include teachers teaching at schools, classes for the disabled, centers for supporting the development of inclusive education , and boarding schools in border areas. The special salary coefficient of this group of teachers is added 0.05 compared to the prescribed level.

In addition to regulations on specific coefficients, the Ministry also drafted a Circular regulating codes, appointments and salary classification for teachers teaching in public educational institutions.

Accordingly, primary, secondary and high school teachers are ranked with the lowest salary coefficient of 2.34 and the highest is 7.55. Primary school teachers who have not reached the standard level have salary coefficients ranging from 1.86 to 4.06.

Preschool teachers are ranked with the lowest salary coefficient of 2.1 and the highest is 6.38. For preschool teachers who have not reached the standard level, the salary coefficient ranges from 1.86 to 4.06.
