At the age of 34, Huong Giang is among the oldest contestants in the history of the contest and is the first transgender person from Vietnam and Asia to participate in the most fierce beauty arena on the planet.

While most of her competitors are in the 20-26 age group and possess youth and resilience, Huong Giang stands out thanks to her experience, stage presence and professional media handling skills.

After only a few days of entering the competition, the Vietnamese representative has made an impression by always knowing how to attract the camera lens and receiving favor from the host media.

Possessing a balanced body of 86-56-90 and a harmonious face with a sophisticated fashion style, Huong Giang is still highly appreciated despite her modest height of 1.68m.

She is currently the contestant with the largest number of followers on Instagram with more than 4.1 million followers. This is considered a significant media advantage.

Before the contest officially began, Huong Giang was in the top of the “Special Dinner and Chat” voting launched by the Thai organizing committee. Although this activity was later declared “invalid” by the Miss Universe organization, Huong Giang’s achievements still showed great influence in the international community.

With more than 10 years of artistic activities and the title of Miss International Queen 2018, Huong Giang possesses solid performance and communication skills.

In her introductory video , she expressed her desire to inspire the willpower and desire to live true to herself, affirming: “My representation of Vietnam does not mean that I am losing opportunities for other women. When asked whether transgender women would “discolor” Miss Universe, Huong Giang cited the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), emphasizing that gender equality and diversity are the directions the pageant is aiming for.

“My presence does not take away from the color of Miss Universe, but also proves that the contest is truly aiming for global diversity and inclusion,” she said.

Miss Universe 2025 takes place from November 2 to November 21 in Thailand, gathering 122 contestants from around the world . This year's season marks a turning point when expanding the competition conditions such as: Allowing transgender women, married women, women with children and no age limit.

According to the Missosology website, Huong Giang is predicted to be able to enter the top 20, competing with representatives from Thailand, the Philippines, Venezuela, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Australia and Ivory Coast.
