On November 5, Sinchew newspaper reported that veteran actor Lam Thuong Vu – who made his mark in The Return of the Condor Heroes – passed away after a heart attack at the age of 75. According to sources, he passed away after more than 20 years of fighting many chronic diseases.

Born in Hong Kong, Lam Thuong Vu graduated from the Department of Communications of the Hong Kong Baptist University, before joining the Hong Kong Drama Group in 1978. With his outstanding stage talent, he was awarded the Best Stage Artist award at the Hong Kong Artist Awards in 1989. In the 1990s, he signed a contract with TVB, appearing in a series of popular TV series such as: Detective Files, Love and Justice Files , bringing his name closer to the audience.
In 1994, Lam was diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer and was forced to leave TVB for treatment. After recovering, he returned to the stage, but in 2004, due to complications from an infection that caused complete hearing loss in his right ear, he was forced to give up acting. In 2009, Lam continued to face severe migraines and had to disband the non-profit organization he founded.

Despite his failing health, he still quietly contributed to art and the community, serving as a volunteer editor for the Khai Tam Thuy Dao radio program for two years.
The passing of Lam Suong Vu has caused grief in the Hong Kong entertainment industry. Andy Lau, Huynh Nhat Hoa, Trinh Du Linh and many colleagues sent their farewell messages, expressing their respect for the strength and optimism of the artist who devoted his life to art.
