The Vietnam-China Friendship Folk Music Exchange Program for Youth took place on the evening of November 27th at the concert hall of the Vietnam National Academy of Music ( Hanoi ).
The program is organized by the Vietnam National Academy of Music, the Guangxi Academy of Arts, and the Chinese Cultural Center in Hanoi.
The Guangxi Academy of Arts' folk orchestra performed in the program "Singing Together in Friendship between Vietnam and China".
Artist Thái Ương – a renowned Chinese conductor and professor at the Guangxi Academy of Arts – led the 72-member folk orchestra of the Guangxi Academy of Arts, delivering an emotionally charged concert for the audience.
Besides Vietnamese musical pieces such as the folk song "Floating Water Lilies and Drifting Clouds," and the Vietnamese-Chinese song composed by musician Do Nhuan in 1966, the instrumental folk song "The Condor Heroes" also thrilled Vietnamese audiences.
The folk- inspired instrumental version of The Condor Heroes utilizes bold musical adaptations and a profound performance, transporting listeners to a world where they can feel the heroic aspirations of the heroic figures.

Also during the concert, the audience enjoyed Chinese musical pieces such as "Flying Dragon, Leaping Tiger," "Jasmine Flower," "Beautiful Zhuang Brocade," "Spring Flowers, Autumn Fruits," "Chrysanthemum Rooftop," "Little Moon Lute," "Grand Melody," "Black Horse Galloping," etc., vividly showcasing the rich cultural characteristics of the nation, interwoven with modern Chinese elements.
In particular, the song "Multicolor - Song of the Wind" showcased the cultural harmony and beauty of the shared "common beauty" between Vietnamese and Chinese cultures. The musical exchange concluded with a Vietnamese-Chinese folk symphony performed by singer Tran Thi Bich Ngoc, a former student of the Guangxi Academy of Arts, and sung in unison by the entire audience, expressing the deep friendship between Vietnam and China.
The orchestra's 72 artists presented a series of outstanding performances of Vietnamese and Chinese music, evoking a range of emotions in the audience.
During the program, the Guangxi Academy of Arts, China, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Chinese Cultural Center in Hanoi.
Speaking at the ceremony, musician Do Hong Quan - president of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations - shared that Vietnam and China are two neighboring brotherly countries, "with mountains connected to mountains and rivers connected to rivers".
Since the 1950s, Vietnamese musicians such as Huy Du, Pham Dinh Sau, Chu Minh, and Hoang Van have studied and trained in China. Today, that good relationship is still maintained and developed.
The Guangxi Academy of Arts in China has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Chinese Cultural Center in Hanoi.
For many years, the Guangxi Academy of Arts (China) has trained numerous Vietnamese students. Many of them have gone on to become famous singers and musicians after graduation.
Ms. Tran Dich Quan, Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Head of the Propaganda Department of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China), shared that musical art has always played an important role in cultural exchange between China and Vietnam.
In recent years, music universities in Guangxi (China) and Vietnam have sent outstanding young artists to exchange ideas and learn from each other, jointly organize music weeks, concerts, art exhibitions, collaborate on artistic creation, and train young talents.
