Singapore's low-cost airline opens direct flights to Da Nang

(NLDO) - Scoot Airlines' first flight from Singapore landed in Da Nang, opening a low-cost direct flight connecting the two destinations.

On the afternoon of October 20, flight TR314 of low-cost airline Scoot Airlines (part of Singapore Airlines Group) landed at Da Nang airport, officially opening the direct flight route Singapore - Da Nang.

The flight departed from Changi International Airport (Singapore) at 2:00 p.m. and landed at 3:40 p.m. with 174 passengers.

Passengers on the flight were given souvenirs.

According to the plan, Scoot will operate this route with a frequency of 3 flights/week on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. From January 2026, the airline plans to increase to 7 flights/week.

The flights used Airbus A320 aircraft, with 180 - 186 seats. Water cannon firing ceremonies, traditional art performances, gift giving and photo taking were solemnly held at the international arrivals area to welcome the first flight.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City held a ceremony to welcome the first flight of Scoot Airlines.

Speaking at the welcoming ceremony, Mr. Tan Van Vuong - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City, said that Scoot's opening of the route contributes to increasing the total flight frequency between Singapore and Da Nang to 24 flights/week, with the participation of Singapore Airlines and Vietjet Air. "This is an opportunity to promote passenger exchange and expand tourism cooperation between Da Nang and Singapore in the coming time," he emphasized.

Scoot Airlines currently operates more than 70 destinations in 16 countries. In Vietnam, the airline flies directly to Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Phu Quoc and plans to open a route to Cam Ranh in November.
