Viktor Le made Hanoi FC lose because of an own goal.

Overseas Vietnamese midfielder Viktor Le scored a goal and caused the Hanoi FC center back to score an own goal in Hong Linh Ha Tinh FC's 2-1 win over Hanoi in round 9 of V-League 2025-2026.

On the evening of October 31, in the pouring rain at Ha Tinh Stadium, the two teams gave the audience many scoring opportunities. There was no "rain of goals" but the 3 goals added to the excitement.

The slippery field and wet ball greatly affected the finishing moves of both sides. Many opportunities were missed before Viktor Le quickly scored in the 41st minute to open the score.

That was the second goal of the Vietnamese-American midfielder this season after 9 matches. He plays more and more effectively, although his physical strength still needs to improve in the remaining time.

After the halftime break, coach Harry Kewell welcomed joy. This time, striker Nguyen Van Quyet marked his return to the team with an equalizer 1-1 after a header in the 46th minute.

The home team's defense made a mistake. Defender Huynh Tan Tai did not follow closely and let Van Quyet head the ball freely.

The drama came in the 69th minute, this time everything still started from Viktor Le. He jumped high and headed the ball into the goal post of goalkeeper Quan Van Chuan. The ball bounced out and did not go into the net.

Center back Nguyen Thanh Chung rushed to clear the ball but missed, the ball hit the foot of substitute defender Nguyen Cong Nhat. The score was 2-1 after Thanh Chung's own goal.

The tournament organizers credited the own goal to defender Cong Nhat afterwards.

After this incident, Thanh Chung played as a striker to "make amends". This center back had at least 2 equalizers but could not beat goalkeeper Thanh Tung on the other side.

As a result, after 8 minutes of extra time and nearly 100 minutes of play, Hanoi FC accepted to go home empty-handed with a score of 1-2 against Hong Linh Ha Tinh. This was their 4th loss this season.

Ha Tinh FC doubled their joy with the victory and surpassed their opponents on the rankings. They ranked 6th with 12 points, 1 point and 1 position more than their opponents.
