The number of official nomination partners for the award grew dramatically, reaching 14,772 partners - an increase of more than 12 times compared to the number of 1,200 in the first season, worthy of being a gathering place for global intelligence.

The 2025 season will not only see a strong breakthrough in the number of nominations but also see increasingly deep participation from the prestigious international scientific community. In particular, the number of nominating partners will increase by more than 60% compared to 2024, mainly scientists from the Americas (accounting for 31%), followed by Europe (28.6%), Asia (26.8%), Africa (7.1%) and Oceania (6.5%).

Notably, nearly 50% (7,240) of the 14,772 nominating partners this year are experts from the world's leading universities and research institutes, such as Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University (USA), Cambridge University, Oxford University (UK), University of Melbourne (Australia), University of Toronto (Canada), National University of Singapore (Singapore)... Notably, 1,395 nominating partners (equivalent to 9.4%) are scientists in the top 2% of most cited researchers in the world, according to the ranking of Stanford University experts.

The 2025 nominations continue to cover many essential areas of life and global sustainable development, including medicine and health care (36.7%); energy, transport and construction (17.8%); environment and the Earth (17.8%); agriculture and food (11.3%). These are all key areas, reflecting the trend of human science and technology development and are attracting great attention from the international community.

VinFuture's nomination partners play an important role in finding and introducing worthy scientific works. The works create positive impacts on human life, while contributing to spreading information about the VinFuture Prize to the international scientific community.

Convinced by the noble mission and uniqueness of the VinFuture Prize, the nominating partners work on a voluntary basis. In 2024, upon nomination by Professor Monica Lam, a leading computer science expert at Stanford University (USA), Mr. Jensen Huang, CEO and co-founder of Nvidia, was honored at the VinFuture Main Prize for his contributions from the industry to promote the advancement of deep learning.

Dr. Le Thai Ha, Executive Director of VinFuture Foundation, shared: “The 5-year journey with the mission of 'Science serving humanity' has made VinFuture a convergence point of global intelligence with the desire to create a better future for the world. The remarkable growth in the number of nominating partners and the increasingly high quality of nominated works each year demonstrate the increasingly strong trust of the international scientific community in the Prize. This also reflects the urgent need for breakthrough scientific and technological solutions to build a world where humans develop in harmony with a sustainable environment.”

The preliminary round of the VinFuture Prize this year will take place from late May to late August, with the aim of carefully reviewing and selecting worthy projects to advance to the final round. The preliminary panel of 10 members will evaluate the nominations based on a rigorous review process and the highest international standards, to ensure scientific, fair and transparent standards. The core evaluation criteria include the level of scientific and technological progress, the positive impact on human life, as well as the scale and sustainability of the project.

After 5 years of operation, the VinFuture Prize has quickly affirmed its stature and prestige in the international arena, when many award winners have been consecutively honored by prestigious global awards. Typical scientists include Dr. Katalin Karikó, Professor Drew Weissman (VinFuture Main Prize 2021, Nobel Prize in Medicine 2023), Dr. Demis Hassabis, Dr. John Jumper (VinFuture Special Prize 2022, Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2024), Professor Geoffrey Hinton (VinFuture Main Prize 2024, Nobel Prize in Physics 2024), Professor Yoshua Bengio, Professor Yann LeCun, Professor Geoffrey Hinton, Mr. Jensen Huang and Professor Fei-Fei Li (VinFuture Main Prize 2024, Queen Elizabeth Prize 2025), Professor Daniel Joshua Drucker, Professor Joel Francis Habener, Professor Jens Juul Holst, Associate Professor Svetlana Mojsov (VinFuture Special Prize 2023, Breakthrough Prize 2025).
