Speaking at the award ceremony, the leader of the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) emphasized: "The Golden Rose is not only a title, but also a source of inspiration for the courage, intelligence and heart of Vietnamese women - those who are working with VCCI and the Vietnamese business community to contribute all their talent, intelligence and enthusiasm to contribute to bringing Vietnam into a new era, an era of national growth."
The activity of judging and awarding the title "Outstanding Vietnamese Businesswomen - Golden Rose" was initiated and chaired by VCCI since 2005. Through 10 implementations, this activity has contributed to affirming the role of Vietnamese businesswomen as an important force, contributing to the economy as well as humanistic, cultural values and social responsibility; encouraging and motivating typical examples of female entrepreneurs who are both successful in business and create sustainable values for the community and society.
The Golden Rose 2025 Award Ceremony is expected to spread, inspire and motivate the young generation of female entrepreneurs, promote the spirit of innovation and creativity, and contribute to the socio-economic development of the country.
Women are a large workforce, an important driving force for national growth and development. With a female workforce participation rate of 63%, it can be said that women are present in all fields today, especially in the fields of education, health care, and services. Notably, the rate of women-owned businesses has increased significantly in recent years and 51% of Vietnamese businesses have women in their ownership structure, much higher than other countries in the region.
At the same time, women are increasingly asserting their role and position in political life and in leading and governing the country. The proportion of female deputies in the 15th National Assembly reached 30.26% (up from 26.7% in the 14th), a high level compared to other countries in the Asia-Pacific region. The role of female leaders and managers in Party and State agencies is increasingly enhanced in both quantity and quality.
Women are also pioneers in the field of scientific and technological research and innovation. In the field of science and technology, the female intellectual force is growing, many of them have achieved success both at home and abroad, and have been recognized by the world through noble awards. In the period 2019-2024, 601 female professors and associate professors were recognized, accounting for 21.5% of the total number of scientists.
Currently, women-owned enterprises account for nearly 24% of the total number of Vietnamese enterprises - an impressive rate in the ASEAN region. Enterprises owned and managed by women not only contribute to the national budget and create jobs for millions of workers, but also bring different values: humanistic thinking, perseverance, aspiration for innovation and pioneering will. When these qualities are connected with science, technology and innovation, they will create a synergistic force, helping Vietnamese female entrepreneurs reach regional and world levels. Female entrepreneurs not only assert their mettle in the marketplace but also actively contribute to socio-economic development.
